I just noticed that G#4 on my Nord Stage 3 Compact is DEAD(No Sound) on all programs, synths, samples and pianos, except for what loos to be only B3 Organs. I don't understand what is going on ??????? Would it be a memory problem or What ???? Or could it be the lastest OS Update ?????

My car won't start... do you think it could be my rear tire....

Come on people. you have a dead key contact. NOTHING to do with memory, or firmware, or any other completely unrelated diagnosis.

NO I DON'T THINK SO, the key hasn't been physically damaged, in fact my entire NS3 is in mint condition, I treat my gear extremely well. Maybe it has to do with a lack of memory because of a few samples I uploaded but it's not supposed to do that.

You didn't damage the key, its the key contact under the key. Its either dirty or dead. (most likely got dirt/dust in it).

You didn't damage the key, its the key contact under the key.

I bought this thing brand new back in December 2018, does it get messed up this quick ????? If that is the case there is no qualified technician in town that knows how to fix this thing. And if it was the contact under the key why the B3 sounds can be heard ?????

Do a search on dirty key contacts. You find plenty posts about this issue, with a detailed explanation of what is going on.

And not having a qualified technician in town wouldn't make any difference. If it was a memory issue than you'd still have a broken keyboard that needs repair.

Your are wrong, the key is NOT broken because it does play B3 organ sounds and the key feels normal just the same as the rest. This is a software problem or memory problem that most likely has to do with the latest OS update.

Yep, you figured it out. Not even sure why you asked for help since you clearly know exactly why your key isn't working.

Since you can't be bothered to do even the minimum amount of research there really is no point in continuing this conversation.

Sorry I am just very frustrated with this situation because I have to play next weekend on a big event and I just don't know how I am going to deal with this situation. What I don't understand is why do the B3 organs do sound on this key but everything else doesn't include the other organs(Vox, Farfisa, Pipe ? I am going to have to take the machine to a electronic handy guy(not keyboard qualified or certified) so he opens it and figures out what's going on.

The keys each have two contacts, an upper and a lower. Only the organs are set up to sound when the upper contact is triggered, as soon as the key moves down slightly. This mimics the way a real organ key works.

The lower contact is like a piano, and sounds when the key reaches the bottom of travel. The upper contact allows the instrument to respond to different velocities.

A small speck of dust or drop of liquid is enough to contaminate the key contact, as when you leave the keyboard uncovered or allow dust or dirt or condensation from temperature changes in the case you keep it in. There are many threads here on this issue.

Best practice is to keep the instrument covered or cased when not in use.
