How to import looped wav samples in Sample Editor?

Hi!

I use an Electro 3. I'd like to upload these prelooped sf2>wav converted samples (https://data.musical-artifacts.com/hamm ... ssimum.sf2) to my keyboard, but the Sample Editor isn't recognize the loop parameters in wav files.
Does anyone have any idea for this problem?

Thanks!

Try re-record it in your Daw then import Wav and create a loop point in the Sample Editor.

The files also contain loop parameters after converting and I want to avoid the relooping or editing in S.E.
It would be ugly if the S.E. don't know loop meta data. :wtf:

Ugly or not, afaik that's the case, NSE ignores loop meta data.

It might be something Awave can do since it does seem to support SF2...
https://www.fmjsoft.com/awavestudio.html#formats
It has is a free nagware try-before-you-buy option.

I've got a pile of SF2 stuff from back when I had a Soundblaster Live! soundcard - So, I ought to be thinking of doing the same thing.

It could be that Nord don't and might never include the ability to hack other sample formats due to licensing complications.

If you can detect/read the original loop start/end points in another program, you should still be able to set them manually in NSE too (a bit cumbersome as you have to do it one by one on each sample, but doable)

Sad but true,

The exact file you uploaded its a piano patch with some keys are heavily looped , Electro 3 does not have much better pianos?

If you desperately need this piano why not to try looping original WAV files in the Sample Editor ( The same you did for SF2 )?

Yes, but it was my first stereo piano which I used in a Korg Trinity about 20 years ago. (flash ROM rulez 8 MB!)
I'd like to feel some nostalgy only. That's the story.

Accordingly, the engineers were rather niggard at Nord. (no multi layer user samples, no loop recognising, no multi-timbral property... - it's foolishly primitive in Electro 3!)

Because NE was not born to be a workstations, like the Trinity; you need to look at the history: NE was designed primarily to emulate Electromecanic instruments (Hammond and other Organs, Clav, Rhodes and Wurly EPs, ...) and pianos, one at a time; sample playback was added later and initially focused to reproduce Mellotron and vintage synths (having no dynamics, so monolayer). If you need or expect a workstation you are simply on the wrong instrument.

Can anyone confirm if latest NSE (3, v3.12) does import WAV file WITH loop information and automatically applies the points in the tool ?
