Digitakt and Nord Drum 2 individual midi

Hi
Anyone using Nord Drum 2/3 with Elektron Digitakt? I have some problems I want to solve.
ND 2 can use 6 indivual midi channels and an global (set to 10). Digitakt have 8 midi tracks that can be assigned to external gear. I send midi to my Bass station 2 (ch7) and a Volca Kick (ch16) without any problem.
For some reason the I can't send midi to Nord Drum 2.
I have checked the Nord Drum2 manual (p. 10-11, 29-31) for midi settings, both global and individual.
My settings are:
Nord Drum 2
Global Midi 10
Indv. Midi Ch.
Ch1=10 (n60),
Ch2=11 (n62)
Ch3=12 (n64)
Ch4=13 (n65)
Ch5=14 (n67)
Ch5=15 (n69)
Digitakt
Midi A=Ch10
Midi B=Ch11
Midi C=Ch12
etc
etc
Any help would be of great help!
Thanks!

Hi EricDeluxe,
Does the ND2 receive any MIDI? What goes wrong exactly?
First (and only) thing I noticed is that you are using MIDI channel 10 both as Global and as Individual MIDI channel for channel 1, avoid any overlap between Global and Individual MIDI channels.
-I think you only need the Global MIDI channel, switch all Individual MIDI channels off, [Ch.OF], make a drum pattern using the 6 notes in a single track on the DT with MIDI channel 10 (/the Global MIDI channel).
-If you want a dedicated track on the DT for each drum sound, which allows you to control pitch and sound parameters with CC's, use the Individual MIDI channels. Any note sent on an Individual MIDI channel will trigger a drum sound on the corresponding drum channel of the ND2, with MIDI note 60, the pitch will be the same as set with the Pitch parameter. If you choose to use the Individual MIDI channels, and given your setup, either pick a different Global MIDI channel, or switch off the Global MIDI channel [GL.OF].
Hope this helps

Hey Albert!
Great, thanks for your help.
Firstly, I changed the Global Midi to 10 and switched all individual midi channels to [Ch. OF]
It seem like I don't get any midi signal into the ND2.
DT: Midi Out to ND Midi In (midi cable)
DT Midi Config:
Clock Sync R/S On
Prg Change R/S On
Midi Ports IN/OUT = Midi + USB
System/USB Config
Overbridge Mode
ND 2 Midi
Local On
GL. 10
Ch. OF
PC Sr
CC Sr

Hi,
Ok, that sounds correct... and the track on the DT also assigned to MIDI channel 10?
What notes are you sending? Your drum pattern in the DT should consist of the 6 notes set on the ND2, so 60,62, etc.
Is your ND2 directly connected, or are you using a splitter, or a MIDI thru connection? If so, try a direct connection, perhaps check another MIDI cable as well..
hope it helps,
Albert

Hmm, is it true that Digitakt has a maximum of 4 notes polyphony per MIDI track?
If so, you can't trigger all 6 drum sounds at once, there are a couple of work-arounds if that is a problem..

Perhaps check this:
nord-drum-forum-f27/nd2-broke-down-duri ... t7166.html
I almost forgot about this 'bug': the ND2 may become deaf to incoming MIDI when it is powered on while connected to a MIDI clock source, perhaps your DT is sending MIDI clock, Kroffe wrote this about it: "Nord Drum 2 with OS v3.00 seem to dislike midiclock in while booting. Temporary fix is to not have the midi in connected while booting." - (or switch the ND2 on first...)

Hey
That did the trick, to turn it on before the DT. Work great now:)
Thanks for your help!
