Hi,
Just got an electro 3 this past Wednesday, used on gig that night. WOW!! What an instrument, Felt like i had the personal feel of my old B3, that's hard to do with synths!! Usually when i get a new board i have buyers remorse for awhile,wondering why in the hell i bought this, but not the Electro 3. Any way, my manual comprehension is poor. Trying to figure out how to change the rotor speeds. check the 4 different tone wheel settings? I get into the sound menu
but get confused on how to select with just the numbers etc. instead of seeing what it is for, even having trouble with selecting the memory on/off select. i did download and install the newest update. Would the sound manager work to do this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Take a look at the white writing to the right of the controls. Without it you are pretty much lost!
Use the up/down buttons to select the number and shift+up/down to change the settings. I don't know if the sound manager can do any of this, but you don't need it anyway... It is VERY simple once you get the idea!

Some observations I have made after a few months with an Electro3 HP: (I usually play it thru a small PA setup, not a Leslie.)
For organ settings (since your name is Hammondman )
in SYSTEM menu 8 I use Hd which gives me full speed rotor when the pedal is pressed on
in SYSTEM menu 9 remember to set the correct pedal ! I use a Roland as I could not find a Yamaha, but now I am happy with the Roland
in SYSTEM menu 10 I use O which gives me organ swell, very much like the swell(volume) pedal on a real Hammond
in SYSTEM menu 11 I use F makes the keyboard feel somewhat closer to a Hammond keyboard

When it comes to the Sound menu is very much down to personal prefs and taste, remember that if you change amps or play thru a big PA
you might have to change settings to make it sound ok.

in SOUND menu 1 I use Hi which makes the treble horn go fast, nice when you are on a PA
in SOUND menu 2 I use nO for normal speed bass rotor
in SOUND menu 3 I use nO normal accelleration, I think it sounds nicest, your milage may vary
in SOUND menu 4 again nO for bassrotor
in SOUND menu 5 I use nO for an ok perc decay
in SOUND menu 6 again nO
in SOUND menu 7 I use nO or sometimes LO on a PA, but Hi if I am on a Leslie, the perc seems to be too bright on Hi thru a PA
in SOUND menu 8 again nO
in SOUND menu 9 I prefer v2 Vintage2 just because the tonewheel noise is too much on v3 Vintage 3 thru a PA. On a Leslie I guess v3 would be fine for a blues/rock band
in SOUND menu 10 I use n that makes it possible to use the highest drawbar when using perc
in SOUND menu 11 I use n normal or sometimes L low on a PA system, on Hi its far too much click on a PA

Again your preferences may be different, but this is how I set up mine today
