me and my band are looking for a instrumental to relieve our frontman a little bit in the second or third set of a gig. He plays the guitar as well, so it should be a song or a mix of some songs wich can be played without a guitar.
Just for information: We are a rock/pop band and the song/mix should be realizable with one keyboard (nord stage 2 or 3), drum and bass.
I know so much songs wich were playable, but all of them would kill the atmosphere at this time if you know what I mean (to slow, not danceable etc.).
The melody should be famous (also in Germany) and danceble as well even at the height of a party (like Axel F for example, but maybe something like this for younger people)
I know there must be some songs I´m looking for with synth/organ lead, but nothing occurs to me since weeks. That worries me.
I hope you can hit me with ideas. Tanks in advance.

You could probably pull off something from Jamiroquai without a guitarist. Virtual Insanity? (edit: missed the bit about it being instrumental)

I used to do Safri Duo's "Played A Live", and it always worked nicely. Combined it with a drum solo that segued into the Safri Duo drum pattern before the filtered synth came in.

How about Chamelon by Herbie Hancock? You could juice the tempo a bit from Herbie’s if you need to to make it danceable for the kids.

If he is the lead singer and the guitarist, I would think any song on which he did not have to sing would be like a rest, even if he was still playing the guitar. I don't have a specific song suggestion, but I think this would widen your options.

Yeah, this song really works fine!
But we already play this one. We need one more song like this

I know that this would widen our options, but he insitst to get a completely rest where he can go out of stage.

What about some Raggae titles?
Sounds nice with hammond organ and a guitar is not absolutely necessary.
Danceable as well.
Parallel to my Stage 3 I play a Keytar Roland AX-Synth to support our guitar player.

This is a bit 'second-hand' as its already a version of a version but I have wanted to do something like this in our band for a while.
Starsky and Hutch - you even get a glimpse of the hammond settings. What age group are you expecting?
