Dear all,
I have a stage 3 and need to use the arp, i am wondering if there is a way to guarnatee what note the arp starts from.the tune requires two octaves of root position major 7 argeggio. So an a, c sharp , e , g sharp. When i play the chords the cycle starts on any note of the chord, i need it to start on the a everytime. Any ideas much appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris

What settings are you using -- bottom-up, top-down, random, ...?

Whatever settings you use, make sure that KB Sync is enabled-

I have the same issue. My solution is to play the chord as a very fast arpeggio. That way, the first note is always the lowest note.

it doesn't work with KB Sync and hold. It's a shame that this behaviour is so random on a 4k keyboard.

There is no randomness imo, HOLD (key hold) of Synth Section works like having the sustain constantly pressed on that section only, so of course that won't work if you alternate chords, as it wouldn't on any other synth having a key-hold function, because it retains all keys pressed since the moment it is activated (including the previous chord ones).
It is meant to retain that single arpeggio/chord you are playing when you activate it (of course you can also add more notes after, if you know what you are doing).

the only randomness is the playing of the keyboard .. Yes i know that sounds harsh but it is true.
it actually does work correctly.. the issue is almost certainly that you are not depressing the notes with the low note first.. as even if you think you are hitting all notes at the same time you are not.. no matter your skill on the keyboard, as the scan rate of the notes is very high.. as stated above change the way in which you play chords when using an arpeggiator such that (if you want low note on the down beat) you hit that note first prior to the others..
The very vast majority of arpeggiators on synths work identical to the NS3. There are very very few exceptions that can (mostly) intelligently translate poorly hit notes into the desired sequence, or fill in missing notes, or truncate a sequence to measure boundaries.. Novation Nova/Supernova is one that I particularly admire.
