ND3p program hang

I use the wonderfully conceived TBMidiStuff Template, to edit my ND3, and I couldn’t live without it. But I’ve stumbled across a problem, where the ND3 gets locked into a program, and I can’t change it other than by restarting the ND3. It’s probably a midi loop. I’ve not cracked it yet. 
But I wondered if there’s a way to reset the ND3 without it needing to be turned off and on each time?! 
One other thing...WHY NORD? Why doesn’t the ND3 save the Local Off/On setting? I have to reset that before every or any gig, or jam. Doh. Seems unprofessional to leave the software unfinished. No?
