Help shaping a sound - percussive bubble

I'm trying to find the sound used throughout this song. In reggae terms, it might be described as a bubble, the staccato hits that come in at .03 seconds and cut in and out throughout the song. The little groove thats alternating with the piano skanks, hitting the 1/8 notes. Often times its played with an organ, this one sounds more like a percussion pad, and may very well be that. I'm trying to manipulate a synth sound to sound like this but cant seem to get it quite right. Any body have any ideas? Any help is appreciated!

I believe you can tweak the organ sound to add this bubble effect :

for true organ sine or triangle work best for bubble, plain, simple and ordinary

the "bubble" part you're talking in about in that Luciano tune is not a keyboard -- it's a drum synth. your real key to getting that sound will be getting the amplitude envelope right

bless, pablo

PS -- respek due to the Messenjah

PPS -- I strongly disagree with KB mag interviewee suggesting that a reggae bubble should "swing" -- should strictly follow tempo without any hint of swing
