DIY Music Stand for NS - Anyone else?

I made my own music stand some time back. It has worked alright. I made it in a bit of a rush at the time in ten minutes using scrap wood & what was handy in my garage. Just wondering what others do or have built as maybe could make something better. I did not buy the Nord stand not because of the price but after seeing someone else with one, I did not like the height especially when using my tablet and did not need something so wide. Also when using in my bedroom (as in the pics) the Nord stand would block my speakers. Would appreciate if others that made one could post theirs. Thanks!

You might find someone in your local area that is capable of welding a stand that meets your specifications. Or, you can purchase one that’s commercially available.

Thank You, I can weld but I am looking for ideas or samples of what people have already done.

Do you know of another commercially available available music stand other than the Nord one which as I explained in my post above will not work for me.

I feel bad for those of you that do not have the music stand mounts but I would think you could use two of the screws on the back. I' will attach some quick pics. Circle the screws I am talking about.
You might have to get slightly longer screws. But take the screws out, and insert an "L" bracket, use rubber in between to protect the keyboard finish. On my NS 3 88 key the screws are the same width as the Nord music stand mounts. So you should be able to use that one. Or build one (even as poor as mine) which could mount just as easy in an L bracket as the Nord mount points. The only thing I would do is make sure to have a horizontal support bar or two as there would only be one screw holding the "L" bracket which would want to otherwise turn. Would think as long as you do not make a stand overly heavy (I think mine weighs less than two pounds) those screws could support it.
Just my opinion. YMMV

OK. in my 2nd pic, the yellow would be the "L" brackets mounted to the screw circled in the 1st pic. The green is the frame or music stand itself.

My cheap side came out when I looked at the Nord music rack for my NE6. So I adapted a Yamaha DGX640 music rack to do the trick. I used 3/16" threaded rod, glued T-nuts to the 1/4" holes I drilled in the bottom of the plastic Yamaha stand and painted it flat black. I bent the threaded rod about 15 degrees and slid it into the music rack brackets supplied with the NE6 HP. It is heavy enough for sheet music or maybe an iPad, but I would not trust it with a three ring binder. All I have left to do is apply the Nord sticker to the back.

My tablet holder is attached to the keyboard stand, not to the instrument. But using a tablet for sheet music involves using a BT foot switch, too. Completely different approach - but when even a 90 cm extension for the music stand wasn't wide enough, I set it to an end.

I rarely swap the tablet holder for a music stand - but they both fit onto the 3/8" screw thread of my K&M universal holder, and they both would fit onto a microphon stand, too.

It's not a cheap solution, but reliable and enduring - will work with multiple (not all) K&M keyboard stands and a lot of different keyboards.

My parts list:

K&M 18817 Universal holder
K&M 7-232-000155 Base tube (extension for tablet holder to get it over the "2nd floor keyboard")

K&M 18954 Adapter for keyboard stand 18950 or 18953
K&M 18814 Adapter for keyboard stands Omega

K&M 19796 Tablet PC holder (small) or K&M 19791 (large)
K&M 18805 Music stand (rather mid size)

If you want, you can make this out of your keyboard stand:

Of course, you can use any solid microphone stand instead of fixing the accessory to the stand. But I wanted free space for my feet (and the foot switches).

OK, I wouldn't call this DIY, though. It's just another way.

I made this one a couple of years ago:

It can be folded flat and it is quite strong. Using it to support my Macbook or Novation Circuit :-)
