Re: DIY Music Stand for NS - Anyone else?
I just finished a stand for my Stage 3. Decided the Nord one was just too expensive. Could have done a red dye version but decided natural looks ok.

Re: DIY Music Stand for NS - Anyone else?
My DIY solution to have a portable solution:
components:
- no.1 sheet of alveolar polycarbonate (thickness 6 mm) at least 53x30 cm
- no.2 bars of steel of aluminum (better) Ø6 mm at least 26 cm of lenght
- plastic tape
[/list]
how to make:
cut a sheet to have a 53x26 cm to get the "backrest"
cut a sheet to have a 53x3 cm to get the "base"
join the 2 sheets with tape along the 53 cm edge
cut the bar to get 2 bars of 26 cm
bend each bar to have a segment of 20 cm and a segment of 6 cm with 15°angle
insert the two bars into holes of big sheet at the best distance to fit with NS supports holes
it is easy, light and foldable to put in the pocket of keyboard bag
that's all folks
let me know your comments/improvements

Hi! Sorry for "re-uping" this thread... your stand is awesome..Streef wrote:I made this one a couple of years ago:
It can be folded flat and it is quite strong. Using it to support my Macbook or Novation Circuit
I'd need to build a very similar one for my Waldorf Blofeld on top of my nord stage... could you please provede some more info / pictures?
Thank you in advance!

Re: DIY Music Stand for NS - Anyone else?
If your talking about the keyboard version of the blofeld then the laptop/music stand shown will not work. The plastic tabs on the back of the Stage are not designed to hold that much weight. You will at some point end up with broken tabs and a dropped blofeld.

I Agree, you shouln't use this design to put an 8 kg synth on top. I tested it with an Akai MPC one (3-4kg?) and this is already too much.

These are all great. Since everything I have ever attempted in a workshop looks like it was done by a 10 YO kid with ADHD, dyslexia and 20/200 vision, I've been contemplating this very problem.
Does anyone know if this is workable? It pops up on Sweetwater's site as an accessory for Nord Stage 3C. Looks wider, lighter, cheaper, at least. And Yamaha is always good quality.

My better half made a stand for me for less than $30 with a pretty piece of poplar wood, some red stain, some brass brackets, etc.
