Stompbox Nord Drum trigger

Does anyone have an idea on how i could achieve a stompbox button trigger for the nord drum 1? I came up with a circuit where the button alternates between discharging two capacitors but i have no clue what values i should be using to replicate the output of a piezo... (i want it to be a button with set velocity as i find piezo sensors to be unreliable)

Hi sadczaaa,

The honest answer is that I don't know. A piezo can produce high voltages for a very brief time, I don't know the voltages a drum pad normally outputs. It is possible to trigger the ND with a Beatstep Pro (BSP) which 'only' outputs 3V. The shape and duration of the signal also matters; a long pulse or 'gate trigger' from the BSP triggers the ND twice: at the start and again at the end of the pulse. To prevent this double triggering they use the shortest pulse possible on the BSP (not sure how short this is) or envelope generators to create a spike like signal.

Some links to threads in MuffWiggler that may help:

Hope this helps,

alternate mode customer care told me the tapkat works for the Nord Drum 3P. Maybe it will also work for the Nord Drum 1? it sends a fixed voltage, so no dynamics...
