When it's on 3, you need the least amount of pressure to achieve the highest velocity, when all lights off, you would need much more pressure to achieve the highest velocity. This is particularly noticeable on weighted keys.

It is not pressure, it is velocity, in fact how quick you press the key.

If you play with a heavy touch you will probably not notice...
Best way to set it is:
1. Practice (for 30 seconds if you are a pianist by trade) playing a simple arpeggio with one-stationary hand (probably right...e.g. C-E-G-C one octave)
2. Get so you can CONSISTENTLY play the thumb loud and the pinky finger as soft as possible, and the ones in-between....in-between
3. Now, scroll through the settings and listen...you will find the biggest difference on the ability to play softly with expression and variation.
A good exercise with any velocity sensitive keyboard is to turn the volume way UP and try to play normal music with very consistent medium volume...if you practice this with the specific keyboard, you will be able to play more interestingly.

Ah great tip-
I will try just that. This is a big issue for me you see.
Im not an Pianist by trade. I just play in a Rock-band for 15 years. And yes. I play Heavy as hell on the keybed.
But for 2 years ago I also joined a band with a vocalist with easy voice. And this band, I cant play rock-piano. So i really need to practice on my touch.
