I haven't used this yet but it may help get you started. Sorry, don't have audio sample yet. Take care.

Here's a revised version of "Walk of Life" by Dire Straits along with a MP3 example. The B3 is on the left split, the intro DX7-type organ is on right split with control pedal for volume, and the middle section is set up if you want to drop the B3 to play the second harmony on the intro. I didn't spend much time on the middle section harmony as we've usually had the guitar player cover the harmony and me play the two dominant organ parts. Listening to the original again, I'd back off the B3 distortion just a little bit and turn up the B3 volume a little more to compensate. Hope you like it - take care.

WannaBBbad can you be more specific about what DX type organ you use for the solo and where to find it for my E5D?

Could we please change the thread title?
As a lifelong Straits fan (and player in a DS tribute band), every time I read it it makes my eyes bleed!

Guy Fletcher was one of the keyboard players at the time and I understand he used the Yamaha DX1 quite a bit on that album. For my program, the synth uses Wave 1 "Mix Triangle - Second" with a triangle wave mixed in 2 octaves higher. Unison mode is set to 1 and chorus is added as well. If you're trying to recreate this with a E5D, absent finding a sample to get close (check the samples section of this forum) you could try using the B3 organ 8' and 2' stops (adding a little of the 1' stop perhaps), but route it through the chorus effect (slow) rather than the Leslie. Hope this helps, take care.
