NORD SAMPLE EDITOR - HELP!!! ( One shot samples)

Hi guys,

Just racking my brain over sample editor with one shot samples.

I need to sample guitar riff assigned ONLY for one KEY without pitch stretching and working only on one key.
( I have tried many things like disabling looping, semitones, assigning zone to one key, and still nothing) sample editor is not giving me a result what i want. It still stretches the WAV and makes it pitched.

Am i missing obvious thing in the settings?

(Desperately need it to work for my concert)

Thanks in advance!

Ivan

Hi Ivan - NSE will stretch a single sample unless you put a silent (no sound) sample next to it. I think the silent sample has to be a minimum length. There was a thread around here explaining it, but I can’t find it. I’ve attached a file that I think I used as a silent sample. Hope this helps.

EDIT: Here is the thread to which I was referring:

So i added the file into the Sample Editor and the silent WAV is not possible to assign to any key...

Any thoughts?

I solved it adding a "little noise floor" over -80dB, the it can pass the threshold to assign it to a key, after that you can down 9dB more on the instrument tab. I know, it's no perfect, but worked for me.

Here is a sample that Hanon_CTS posted back in 2012, which has silence with a beep at the end that can be cropped within NSE. I think that this is what I used so NSE would accept the file and let me map it to a key.

maybe you're wrong with the root key/destination key

It was precisely assigned but no matter which loop point i set it still in the end of sample did gave me a sound "bleep"
