Can't access Preferences * SOLVED *

* Update *
It works now - Audio is being played, although I can still not access Preferences.
See attached video.
I actually did the same thing for approx 51 times. 52 is the amount of tries in order to make it work.

On the Macbook, I'm trying to access the Preferences in order to secure that I can play audio (which I can't
)
First bump on the road: The "preferences" pane is greyed out. See the attached screen shot.
Any good solutions?

* Nord Sample Editor Software version is 2.28 (where can I get earlier software versions?)
* OSX is High Sierra
* Nord Electro 4 HP (not connected during the above mentioned session)
