NE5D 61 - does MIDI Out supply 5 resp. 3,3 V or nothing?

Hi, does anybody know whether the NE5D in the 61 keys version supplies 5 respectively 3.3 V electricity at the MIDI Out? Or can anybody confirm that either a Yamaha MD-BT01 or a quicco sound mi.1 Wireless MIDI adaptor works with this particular nord? Thanx in advance and best regards from very sunny Germany.

I've used the MD-BT01 with my NE3, for what it's worth.

But it has to be used to connect to an Apps right? It cannot be used from one hardware synth to the other?

Some days ago I ordered both the Yamaha and the quicco - and today they arrived. Maybe on Friday or Saturday I'll give it a deep test, and I'll let you know my preferred choice. Most comfortable would be if Setlistmaker on my iPad can link to the adaptor directly, other points can be if I can leave it plugged, even in the gigbag. For me it has to be RTR - ready to run in an instant. As far as the use from keyboard to keyboard is concerned I guess it would in any case need two adaptors. Wonder if my two different ones will recognize the other. I'm curious. Sunny regards

Right. It's for connecting to a Mac or iOS device via Bluetooth.

@Tasten-Bert, I'll be interested to hear your evaluation. I own the Yammie dongle, and am happy with it... I just have to remember to actually set it up at the gig, before the first set starts... :o

I find the associated Yamaha app to be of limited usefulness (as I do not own a Yamaha keyboard). I think I opened it once, to assign the device a unique name. Instead, I installed MIDI Wrench, a small app that keeps the dongle "awake", among other things. It has to be open and the BT device enabled, in order for it to work with ForScore (my app of choice for sending program changes).

Back again - I've done all my testings. My preferred choice is the Yamaha MD-BT01, mainly because I feel that the plugs of the quicco sit very tight, for me a bit to much pressed, in my nord's MIDIs. The Yammie worked fine from beginning on. I found the app midimittr, mentioned in another forum, which is perfect. Didn't look any further for the Yamaha-recommended app Pianosomething. And even if the quiccos are much smaller, I would have to take them off anyway in the gigbag. Now I'm about to open a new thread in search of TB Midi stuff or TouchOSC help. Thanks so far and best regards from very icecold but sunny Germany.

And I should also mention that my good results only regard the midi data transmission of non time-critical data. Playing the iPad's Garage Band from the keys of my nord, both at hearable volumes, has always strong latency issues. One tone sounds like a fast "bee-bing". And turning off the volume of the amp which has the nord plugged in makes Garage Band because of the delay unplayable for me. Pity but crazy feeling. Fortunately no problem for me as I was anyway only looking for programme changes and such things.
