Performing with mp3 using monitor in

Postby Magical01 » 03 Feb 2018, 20:41

Hi, Can anyone help please. I see that when I plug an mp3 player into "monitor in" I can play along with my headphones on. But what if I wanted to perform along with an mp3 backing track with the sound coming from my monitors. Surely this is possible. Does anybody know how to do this?

My Stage 3 88 routes Monitor In signal to Ch1 and CH2 Out automatically.
No setting necessary
Kind regards,
Helmut

The Stage 3 has the capability to route the monitor input out to the channels 1 and 2, in addition to the headphones output. I think it is possible that most other Nords don't have this capability (at least my old Electro 3 only routes the monitor input to the headphones). As an alternative, you could of course use the headphones out to your speakers -- possibly through a mixer/gain reduction step or cable.

Correct, only the NS3 (and I guess the future ES6) can route the Monitor-in to Line OUT (1/2), all other models including the NP3 have it routed to Headphones out only, so teh solution is to use a Y (Stereo-2xMono) cable and set the master volume + mixer/speakers gain appropriately,

A workaround: Do not use the regular L and R line out. Use the Headphone Stereo output to feed the mixer/PA/speakers
