I would love to get some help with my Nord Stage 2. I am trying to layer two sounds - specifically A:15:4 Pluck Electro Harp and C:17:5 Cathedral Org, so I can play them at the same time and then save them as one new sound into the Live Mode. Is this even possible and if yes, how ?

As a side note only: NORD should really re-label the so-called "Live Mode" button. People seem too think this mode is especially suited for "playing live". That's what this mode is NOT about - at least in my humble opinion. The concept of of saving a new sound "into the Live Mode" effectively means almost the opposite of "saving" - it actually means *losing* this sound by any - seemingly temporary - change of buttons, knobs or wheels the user makes (because any change is instantly stored into the current "Live Mode" program memory.)
So in short: To really *save* a sound, you *don't* save it into "Live Mode". Instead you should use a regular program memory
If you "save" (store/write whatever...) a sound into "Live Mode", the only purpose is to be able to tweak this sound until you like it without having to think about manually saving it. Instead of using it when playing "live", I would rather use "Live Mode" at home / in the sudio when programming sounds. But to be honest: I've *never* used the Live Mode on my NS2 so far. What's it really good for?
Best regards, Alex

It's an interesting question, what would be a better label?
"Live Mode" doesn't have to imply better suited for "playing live." I think of it more as the controls always being "live" in the sense that they are always permanently altering the state of the patch.

Yeah, I'm curious about that too (seriously) ???
The 5 Live slots automatically save changes made to Programs until you overwrite the Live slot with another Program. Even if you move to a different Program or Live slot, your changes will be saved when you go back. With regular Programs, if you move to a different Program without saving, your changes are lost.
