Hi!
I looking to maybe pick an electro 3 HP second hand and saw in the specs that you can connect a midi keyboard as an upper manual for the organ. Then I could play organ on an unweighted keyboard, best of both worlds, but a question arose. Since the electro 3 only works with 5-pin midi, can you connect an usb midi controller to the electro 3 with an midi converter?

Yes, it should work, with a converter like this one of these:NiclasR wrote:Since the electro 3 only works with 5-pin midi, can you connect an usb midi controller to the electro 3 with an midi converter?

Or it can work with more common adapters/cables if you use a computer in between.

Re: 2nd usb keyboard to electro 3
I'm not quite sure. I once had an electro 3, and if I remember correctly, the USB port could only receive MIDI system and programme data such as from the sound manager, no realtime "note on note off velocity etc." data. I would recommend to check before buying. Good luck.
Oh sorry, I think I misread the question at first. Please disregard my post. Best regards from Germany.
