Anybody using an Ocean Beach DB-1 with a NS3?

Hi all!
I’ve been experiencing problems using my DB- with the NS-3. When connected to the Stage, I don’t even have to manipulate the drawbars and after a short while of playing notes and especially using the expression pedal (Yamaha FC-7), the midi overloads and can no longer process midi input from the DB-1. I’ve switched midi control changes to receive and have shut off almost all midi implementation except global (set to channel 1). I’ve also sent the unit to Dave at Ocean Beach who found nothing wrong with the unit.
Any sage and/or counsel from those wise in the ways of such things?
Jeff

I had a DB-1 and NE3 prior to purchasing my NE5. I didn't use the DB-1 a lot, but I never experienced any issues with the unit. It always worked without issue.
Realized I misread the post and that this is about the Stage 3, not the Electro 3. So not really relevant.

I have the same problem, and the only way I have solved it is to turn off the Global channel. O agree it seems like its the expression messages from the Stage 3 is the problem, but there is no strange messages coming from the Stage 3 (I have verified this with a midi monitor), so I wonder if it simply is sending out too many CC-messages for DB-1 to handle.

If you shut off the global channel, by what means are you having the NS-3 communicate with the DB-1?
Thanks in advance!

I have programmed my DB1 to only control Panel A, and use the internal drawbars for controlling Panel B.

Ahhh! I have to figure out how to do that! OB Dave has me disconnecting the MIDI out on the Stage to the DB-1 and powering the unit with the wall wart power supply and that works fine, but isn’t ideal as well, given my lack of a desire to use the wall wart. But I’m only using panel A, so is it realatively intuitive to do as you say?

If you use the programming tool that can be downloaded from the DB1 website, it's pretty easy. You just need the MIDI implementation of the Stage 3, that is found in the user manual.

Even with my C2, it could happen: I habe two DB1,s, one for each manual but they are all powered, all the time, with a Boss P120 power...If it's not the case (Or if you batteries are dead...), there is not enough power coming from the Midi only to process all the drawbars and Swell pedal movements at the same time...So, yes, it crashes...
But if the DB are powered, it perfect...
I don't have a Stage 3 yet to add to the discussion for that matter, sorry...

I wonder if Nord is continuing to power the MIDI jacks from the 3.3v power instead of the 5v line. This was the case for the NE3 and caused lots of problems in powering other MIDI devices. I had a chat with them about that at NAMM2015. I wanted to use a MIDI solutions box and it would not power up from MIDI power. I did some digging into the guts of the NE3 to see if I could determine why and discovered they were running the MIDI power from the 3.3V processor supply instead of the 5V power (which is also available). I never got an answer from Nord as to why when the MIDI spec and ALL reference designs are connected to a 5V power source.
