Demo Nord Lead A1 vs Roland SH-01 Gaia

Yesterday the Gaia arrived and because at forums you can read from "The Gaia sounds great" to "it sounds plastic" or thin, I made a demo comparing the pure oscillator waveforms with A1.
By the way at forums you as example also can read about Prophets that they sound thin, the filter is bad etc.
I don´t trust forums anymore.
When I listen the file I can´t hear much difference, but interesting is the amplitude of the audiofile that might show the quality difference.
First is A1, second Gaia.
Both filters to LP 24dB, at the Gaia´s square I used variation red, triangle green and sIne red.
Kind regards,
Herbert

That is interesting. Pretty close to my ears. It looks like the Gaia saw is curved (can't tell by hearing at it). Also in the square wave, it appears that the Gaia has a bit more of noise (I can tell a difference between these A1 and Gaia, but not sure if one is "better" than the other). You can see that with audacity "plot spectum" function, the noise floor is lower for the A1. Perhaps this also depends on how the two were amplified.

Here´s a test of the filters:
1 - LP12 low resonance
2 - LP12 high resonance
3 - LP24 low resonance
4 - LP24 high resonance
5 - LP M high resonance via LP24 high resonance from the Gaia
Can you guess, which is the Nord and which is the Gaia?
Kind regards,
Herbert

I can't tell by ear, but I can by looking at the waveforms in Audacity

Ah, this time, I thought, they both look weird

. Which differences can you see (without mentioning the name

?

The geometry of the sawtooth, I mentioned this above.

So it is more like the oscillator what I spotted, rather than the filter.
You look at where the filter is mostly open, thus revealing the unfiltered waveform.

Wow, that was not an easy one, congratulations!
