I realize this post is about the QSC K8.2 but just wondering if you’re set on these as mid/high speakers for your PA?
If so, a pair of KSubs would be best for handling a full band. Best stick with same brand for optimum mid/high matching.

Well, not set on the K8.2 but considering them very much because of many positive feedbacks about their quality and sound at an affordable price. Still open for other recommendations about a suitable small/medium PA for band as described one of my previous posts, but this would become off-topic in this thread then

Budget would be useful to know.
Also transportation. Is size,weight important?

Maybe going a bit off-topic then.
QSC K8.2’s or K10.2’s with one KSub. Done.

Heck, let's go off topic then? Agree with above. Note that the Ksub is discontinued, but I'm sure you could find one used. The KS212C is the designated replacement, and looks like something I would buy if I needed another sub. It may be more than you need, but since when has that been a problem?

Thanks all for your feedback, I think I will look out for two KSub first, if an can’t get one as will go for the K212C. Budget is less important, we‘ll pay what we have to pay for a decent PA

Almost happy, replaced my SSV3 with a pair of this.
Any special setting to share?
Custom EQ perhaps?

I think I need to roll off some of the treble, mine are placed as monitors on the floor, but I think they are too sharp.
Tried the different modes, best sounding i found was the “Studio monitor”.
Have compared the sound I hear with recordings from mixer, and can hear that the treble I hear are only from the QSC.
Might try another routing. Right now both my keyboards are going into the mixer, and return in stereo through the onboard monitor mixer.
That is a choice I have made to be able to adjust and mix the induvidual keyboard since we are doing a lot of recording, but might skip that and run both boards through my Key Largo mixer.

Gain staging can still be a factor.
Piano and synth sound better (NS3), but I still prefer my organ (Mojo61) sound through the SS3, it do some magic with the Leslie effect and organ tone.

I have dialed down the treble on mine a bit. I set the HI EQ to -1.5 at 10K. Probably can go lower without significant impact to sound quality, since most keyboard sounds are below that.

The Studio Monitor setting is flat as a board. That's what I use. Flat EQ response is good with Nords. But you need to re-dial in your presets.

I think people run into problems when they've set up their boards through crappy amplification, boosting treble, etc. Plug in some decent amplification, and your perspective changes pretty quickly. Like going from a SSv3 to a pair of K2 8s. A completely different beast. All the tweaking I had done for the SSv3 were utterly useless when played through better amplification

I have presets for my SSv3 (still use it) and very different presets for my premium stuff.

Simple signal chains are your friend. As is the Key Largo -- great bit of kit. Made me swear off of cheapo mixers.

Organ sounds are sort of personal (as are AP sounds) so do what works for you. The SSv3 is freaking amazing at Leslie swirl. I'm not doing organ-centric material these days, so I'm more than happy with my NS3C. Actually, I'm still happy with my ancient Nord Electro 4D through a Vent. Tasty, tasty.

Best of luck!

cphollis: Have you tried the Key Largo as an interface? Do you know if the USB interface gives the option of having four outputs?
I see the mixer has a stereo output and two monitor outputs = total of four.

PS: a bit off-topic, but there has been a few earlier in this thread, so I recon no one gets offended.
