In 2003 Clavia introduced the 2X ,In 2008, Clavia released a special limited edition of the Lead 2X , In 2013 Clavia announced the Nord Lead 4 at the annual Musikmesse show in Germany.

Every 5 years clavia goes with new lead.
Should we expect to nord lead 5 in 2018?
What you would like to see ?

LFO and envelope morph groups - which means that you (in theory) could do away with mod destinations while getting increased flexibility. Even better if the LFO could modulate itself too, you could get some feedback FM type waveforms.

Proper interpolating oscillator waveforms - "wavetables" in other words. ;)

A more advanced arpeggiator - the patterns in NL4 are nice but hard to remember. Maybe just add a "key order" mode at least. The arp in the NL3 was nice. Would be nice to not have to sacrifice an LFO too. I love the chord mode in the NL4. Or a sequencer? Simple and easy to program, of course.

Sample (or even some kind of single cycle) loading - not on top of my list, but it would be nice.

Personally I would rather have a delay feedback knob instead of reverb, I'd love to be able to "play the repeats" on the lovely sounding delay in the NL4 instead of doing it with impulse buttons, but that might just be me. Oh, and LFO to delay time would be huge! You could get chorus and flanger sounds too from that. Add on a couple of delay algorithms and you get a lot of different variations, no need for a separate reverb.

Bottom line: The whole Nord Lead range is fantastic! I have loved every incarnation of them. All the best to the Nord team, it is not easy to keep up these days but I'm sure they will succeed. :)

I would like to see: the NL4 architecture + sample playing (in the 4 slots) + the A1 effects + aftertouch + better keybed (full size keys) + more polyphony (OK, we can always ask  )

61 keys, aftertouch, sample playing, vocoder, next level FM (e.g. Like in a DX7), a morph joystick to blend between the 4 slots like in the genious Korg Wavestation.

Cheers,

Eumel

I would like to see 61 keys , other screen that u can see graphs of adsr something like prophet 12, import wavetable, aftertouch , more polyphony like over 90 voices.
thats will be a heaven.

:keyboard: :thanks:

61 Keys, in full size (key length!), would break with the "traditional" NL form, but for a modern performance synth that has it's value for live playability it would be the most welcome change. Also programmable user arp patterns (16, 32 step); wouldn't mind editing them via software or menu.

Chorus effect, Reverb and Delay simultaneously. Onboard EQ! Aux filter (hp, notch). Remove splits limitations (2-2). Seperate tune for Osc1 to eliminate workarounds, a multitimbral synth needs this. PW for all waveforms. "Attack rate" knob for morph buttons. Sine LFO!

To save unlimite prestets , patches ,like Virus TI.
standalone , vst , vsti , au , plugin editor.
step seq , arp 16, 32.
And screen , its important.

I would love to have a Lead A2 with:

1. No global vibrato settings
2. no fixed upper/lower system
3. Fatar TP8S or TP9S instead of the horrible TP7
4. better display, to at least display names instead of cryptical 90ies digits
5. display of the stored value of a parameter, right now it is impossible to see on what value a parameter is stored
5. feedback knobs instead of buttons
6. FX mix knob
7. dedicated shape knob. Shape shouldn't be an OSC config imho.
8. the morph buttons like in the L4
9. keybed with Aftertouch and AT as morph source

Please at least something from this list. ;)

Hi Duplobaustein,

I thought the topic is about the NL5 ;)
