NE5D - Noise at Power-Up

Hello. I recently traded my Roland VR-09 for a new (wrapped in a box) Nord Electro 5D (73 keys version).

I have noticed a soft continuous hum/noise (sort of like a 60 cycle hum) coming from the keyboard itself on power-up, and continues until the board is shut down. The hum/noise is present whether I have anything plugged into the audio outputs, midi, or pedal inputs (IOW, the keyboard makes this noise when powered on even if nothing but the electrical mains are plugged into the board). I do not hear the noise in the audio output of the board, but rather from the board itself.

Is this normal for this keyboard? I do not believe I have heard this from any digital instrument I have owned (roland Vr-09, roland RD700, hammond-suzuki xk3, casio privia piano).

Thanks.

Thank you Mr. Ray. That sets my mind at ease.

I do find this hum/noise remarkable because as I said before, I haven't heard this kind of noise from any of my other digital keyboards.

Does the NE5D have a fan inside it? I have two kinds of powered speakers (JBL and Yamaha) and both make a constant hum/noise when powered on due I think to the cooling fan inside the units.

This may put you at ease. It's a transformer hum.
