New to Nord. Just purchased the Electro 5d 61. Cannot set up any programs or set lists. Keep getting "memory is protected". HELP!

Out of the box, all patches are locked so that you don't accidentally erase everything.

In the System menu (check the manual), switch off "Memory Protect".

The manual for the Lead A1 even hints that it's there to prevent your cats from messing up your patches! :-)

If like on other Nords, there is a button labelled "System" underneath. This means you press Shift and that particular button. On the Electro 5 (which I don't have personally) I think it's the "A" button a little bit to the left of the Shift button that you need to press while holding Shift (check where it says "System" underneath).

Maybe a cursory read of the manual would give you an overall idea of how to navigate the board; it's usually not so difficult to figure out once you get the hang of the Nord interface :-)

Help! I just bought a E5. How do I navigate the System menu? I see to get into it, you press System and Shift. But I want to change the setting for the rotor pedal and can't get past the Memory Protection option to navigate to I believe it's Option 9 for the rotor pedal. Any help would be most appreciate. Nord really need to do a better job with their product documentation.

Update: just figured it out. Remove Memory Protection! Duh!

They actually have user manuals for their machines that are rather useful.

This option is set specifically to keep people who don’t read them from doing something stupid.
