Seamless Sound Switching electro 5

Post by white elefant »

Hi,
can a nord electro 5 owner tell something about Seamless Sound Switching . If you chance sounds, do they stop immediatly like electro 4 or can you hold the old sound f.e. strings with the pedal and start playing the new sound f.e. piano. So you hold the old stringpad wirth the pedal and start playing piano. The string pad ends only if you stopp holding the pedal. Is this possible?
Thanks for an answer

The Nord Electro 5 is bitimbral. That means you can set up a program with a string sample in one slot and a piano sound in the other. As long as you don't change programs you can do what you want: Play strings first, with the piano sound within the program muted, and then unmute the piano sound, begin playing, and mute the string sound when you desire. You can actually set up a split within the program so as to use different parts of the keybed for each sound. All this is within one and the same program.

However, and that is the drawback in some situations, you cannot change PROGRAMS with the sound of the first program continuing into the second.

So the glass is half full - and bitimbrality is a huge plus compared to earlier Electros - but it is half empty as well.
