No news since 2 months

>I don't understand the concept of "showing their age"<
By that I meant smaller sample sizes and older sampling technology. You said it yourself - both Grand Lady and Studio 2 suffer from weak upper octaves. Later samples done several years later may not have these problems, given improvements in sampling technology (and experience), and the larger file sizes which have to be accommodating something additional.
A Small sample for the Studio Grand 2 is 33.9MB. A Small sample for the Silver Grand is 52.6MB. That's a 55% increase in file size yet both are listed as having identical feature sets (no resonance, stereo sampled, etc). Something has to be causing such a size increase - my guess is just better sampling based on newer techniques and experience. This percentage jump holds for the Med and Large sizes too.

Yeah, I use my Nord at home a lot for leisure playing, so I do like having it. I know some argue that in a full rock band no-one hears it, but that's not always true. We play slow stuff too, sometimes with just keyboard and singer (a la Sarah Bareilles), and it's nice to have as full a piano sound as possible. It's not all just bashing away on Stones songs.
Bottom line is that with an Electro at least, it's always a battle of space vs options. If you want an XL, you only get one, with a couple of small ones. If we all had 5GB we'd just load up XL samples of everything and then shut off string resonance if we didn't like it

The subject of the initial post was no news from Nord thoses times...
Any clue why?
Did someone notice that during other years this period was calm regarding the eventually news samples that we could get?
Cheers

Re: No news since 2 months
historically, this is a quiet time of year. if anything, it would be odd to see something new now.

Re: No news since 2 months
Perhaps you'll settle for news from Nord Tech Support Canada/USA: I had spaghetti three times last week.

Re: No news since 2 months
I hope that your Spaghetti were with Red Nord Tomato sauce!
Happy to get some Nord news. It's not a new sample to try but the wait is over and it was worth it!
Cheers
