I am afraid it will not sound so good on a NordStage2 because the lack of velocity layers on samples. On this Motif beats nord...

Hi, Jusix

Please post a YouTube clip of the sound you are looking for. I may have an analog type string patch that would work for you. You should also try Berretje's suggestion and try it in your situation before you decide it won't work.

Also, can you explain why velocity layers would be noticeable when playing this type of pop music? I have never understood why this feature would be important when playing songs from the late 70s, as it was really rare on synthesizers back then. In my experience, no audience listening or dancing to pop music would have any idea that a string part was played with any nuance of expressiveness. Just an opinion from a cynical musician :D

Thanks-

I will not agree on this. Have you heard them from a NS2? Or tried them?
And yes, I have been looking for string sounds a long time. And I know the power of Yamaha sounds (Tyros, Motif, etc).

I use those string sounds especially for Le Freak and Good Times.
These sound very good on my Nord.

Hi Berretje,

I have just started a thread on this topic today.

Thanks for the link. But will these work on Nord Electro 6D, or just Nord Stage 2, please?

Paul

Hi DJKeys,

Do you have a file which will work on the Nord Electro 6D, please? That would be really fantastic if so!

Cheers.
