Looks like the NL4-r has also been pulled out of their product list.

I Purchased both ! and would have not purchased the keyboard versions. (Strange decision from Clavia).

I have not seen a formal announcement about this, but I am tech support, not sales, so perhaps I was left out of the distribution list for any communications about this...? Muziksculp, I happen to agree with you in general principle. I almost always prefer rack version (although on NL4 the keyed version is much more useful for Impulse Morph). However, I strongly suspect that you and I are in a minority here, outliers in the grand masses of electronic instrument purchasers. Clearly, if these were actually selling in significant numbers, Nord would not discontinue them. It may therefore be safe to guess that they are not selling in significant numbers. We must therefore place the blame on the masses in the market who are not buying them, and not on Nord who "gave it the old college try, despite having already been down that road previously with what were probably similar results. In these times of increasing VST presence, hardware will seemingly continue to become more and more scarce. Yes, the modular scene has made a resurgence, but these are mostly boutique things, just as vinyl has made a small resurgence.

According to the Swedish 99musik.se forum today, Clavia support confirmed that the rack versions are extinct due to low demand.

Desktops don't sell ?

Then why is Korg releasing this great analog synth in a desktop model, and will be shipping next month, (hehe ... I want one of those).

Monophonic vintage analog synth vs. VA Synth.

Big company vs. small company.

I guess they will still be in stock of shops quite a while.
