Hello everyone, I have a short question to make, maybe you guys can help me out with this.

I have a pair of krk rokit6 3rd gen with my nord piano 2. Im not 100% happy with the sound, and im almost sure that the np2 sounds are not the problem, the KRK 1/4 cable output is balanced! and im using 2 unbalanced cables for the nord, could this be deteriorating my sound? Have a good one!

I've used balanced and unbalanced cables with my Nord Pianos 2, no obvious difference. Might it be something else? If you give all the details of your setup, maybe we can help?

Well Im not using any mixer/audio interface at the moment, just 2 TS cables from the KRK to the NP2. Using the triple pedal. My room has no treatment and It's quite big, I have no panels and no mopads.
I have my krks on top of some books facing towards me when I play, like a triangle, like everyone recommends. I tried all the pianos, Large and Xlarge samples of course, with string resonance, with the mono setting off too.
I tried eqing many pianos, and something strange happens, I start equalizing it and i like it, and after I played it for a bit I find the sound bad again. Tried the piano with a pair of cheap JBL headphones and it was all distorted so can't say I tried the sounds with good headphones.

I have monitors with balance input from my NS2. I don't think balance or unbalance is your issue. For instance I have 2 5" Yamaha monitors. They do good for highs and mids but are seriously lacking on the lows. I ended up buying some M-Audio BX8a (8 inch) monitors used , and now it fills out the sound nicely with a better lows but is a bit weak on the highs. When I use them together then it is perfect for me. If you can't afford monitors, you might try a subwoofer. Is it the lows that are lacking? It could also just be ear fatique which can be common if listing for lengthy periods of time.

Wow those are some expensive pair of monitors haha! I'd say the krk at 400usd a pair were my limit, maybe I should buy headphones in the 150-200usd range? like sennheiser 598, akg q701 or beyerdynamic.
It's not ear fatique, im quite sure of that. It's REALLY hard to explain the sound, I can't say the problem is with the high or low! The problem is the overall sound quality, with some pianos I feel like the sound is inside a box, like it isn't precise, that happens with the Studio 2 for example.
With the Silver grand I feel the sound is way thin, and I can't seem to solve that with EQ. I think the pianos should sound excellent without EQ, they don't sound like in the demos, of course there are a lot of factors which affect this, I realize that.
When I listen to the demos I use my Astro a50 headset, which is decent sounding, (just another overpriced "gaming" headset) but the sound isn't bad.

Yeah I only paid 175 USD for my pair of M-Audio BX8a. Found them at a local pawn shop. Keep your eyes open for deals. No way would I pay $350 USD for a single say Yamaha HS8. In fact every piece of gear I own now, I waited for a deal to come up.

I use headphones most of the time when my family is home. When they go somewhere I take them of and crank up the monitors. My nearest neighbor is about 250 feet from my house so I've never had complaints of volume (except from my family). I like to "feel" the bass.

Do you think I could get more sound out of some headphones like beyerdynamic, akg or sennheiser for 200usd than from my krks?
