Nord Triple pedal stopped working, any ideas?

Hey everyone,
My triple pedal recently decided to stop working. None of the pedals seem to function anymore. At first I suspected the jack on my NS2HA88, but a regular sustain pedal works fine (I'm changing the sustain pedal type accordingly in the System menu). This led me to believe it's actually the pedal rather than something on the board.
I took my Triple pedal to my local Nord dealer. They replaced the cable and cleaned out all the contacts. It doesn't work.
Is my pedal dead? Is there a problem with my jacks? What do you guys think?
I was going to bring my NS2 in for them to have a look, but I kind of need it :-S

Is it under warranty? If so you'll likely need to contact the point of sale and go from there, they will want to see both the keyboard and pedal - Pablo will probably jump in here.
FYI I had to get the cable replaced on mine, that's all it was for me.

The problem started about a month after the warranty expired.

Pretty obvious questions, but you never know: Is the pedal type set properly in the NS2 settings? Is the pedal switch on the panel engaged? You said that none of the 3 pedals work at all? That is odd. Did you try a multimeter/tester to see what values do you get when pressing the pedals?

The 1/4" receptacle may have internal damage, possibly as the result of someone having stepped on the cable or bumped into the protruding 1/4" plug. Inspection of the instrument and pedal by a competent tech will be your best bet to solve this mystery.

Pablo

Hi Folks,
My Triple pedal stopped working. I used a single one to finish the gig. I am partly retired now and gig maybe 6 times a month. The triple pedal is around 1 & a half years old. So that's around 100 gigs. Not very good is it?
Next day I took the pedal apart. I put a meter on the circuit board tip & earth. Good! .... Then the stereo jack. Nothing.
So, unsurprisingly, the cable needs to be replaced. If you need to do this just be careful when using a solder sucker and re soldering, because there are 6 resistors on the board, only a quarter inch away.
I have to say that I am surprised at the sloppy design of this pedal considering the price. As soon as I unpacked it, I thought the cable would suffer from metal fatigue where it joins the body of the pedal, and I have been careful to try & store it well.
My Nord stage 2 88hd is a quality piece of hardware. I wish that Nord would do some sort of a deal with Fatar (who apparently make the pedal) for them to re design the damn thing with a plug & socket or something other than the hardwired cable.
That's what I plan to do. Somehow I will modify the casing so that a stereo jack socket can be fitted, eliminating the trailing cable.
Ok Rant over. I hope you good folks out there will gain something from this.
Happy music making
Jeff

I was just having a glance thru the forum (I don't use it that much) and just noticed that I hadn't posted a result for the Triple Pedal Mod that I did.
So, just so as you know. Looking at the pedal from the front, there is enough space (internally) on the top right hand side for a stereo jack socket. I drilled an appropriate hole and fitted the socket. Soldered a short length of cable to the socket & circuit board (after carefully removing the old cable ends with a solder sucker) Fitted the whole thing back together. Connected a good quality stereo cable (angled plugs)from the pedal to the Nord & there we have it. Totlal success. Less than half an hour's work.
Again.....I hope you good folks out there will gain something from this.
Happy music
Jeff

Thanks Jeff. I also think angled plugs are much better. Should be standard on kbd pedals.
Heard a few stories about knocking on straight plugs and braking things (from the socket to circuit boards).
