USB Problem

hello! I'm new to the forum, I recently bought a brand new NS2. It's a fantastic machine, however I'm having lots of trouble with its USB connection. Sometimes my Mac (OS X Yosemite) won't recognise it. I try to connect it to sound manager and I get a message reading "Please connect your Nord instrument to the USB port", even though it's connected to the USB port on the Mac. After turning it off and on several times, it ends up being recognized. The problem's not the cable, I tried several ones. Does anybody have an idea what's going on? Any help will be pretty much appreciated.

Sorry to hear of the trouble you have with your new instrument.
Failure of a USB device to enumerate (identify itself to the host) is almost always a hardware problem. That means either a bad port on the Mac, or the Nord, or a cable.
Since you can't change the Nord port, you need to try another port (either on your Mac or another PC - with the Nord Driver installed). If it works elsewhere you have a bad USB port on your Mac. If the Nord has problems on all USB ports, the problem is almost certainly the Nord.
Sometimes a very short cable (less than 1m) helps overcome the limitations of a defective port, so it's worth trying if you have one available.
Good luck!

Unfortunately, after trying everything I could (short usb cable, restoring, reinstalling OS, connecting to a PC) the problem persists and I`m sending the Stage back to the shop, to have it fixed. After the problem is solved I will most likely sell it. It's a great sounding machine but I'm not sure about its reliability anymore...

Sorry to hear of the USB problem on your Stage 2.
Hopefully you can get it fixed under warranty and then, if you like the keyboard, keep it.
It's probably just a rare manufacturing fault.
I had to send back a brand new A&H QU16 mixer as there was one too many green LEDs on one side of the LR meters.
It was an odd manufacturing issue and A&H couldn't believe it when the store contacted them about it.
All fixed now and it's a great mixer.

When you tried it on a PC did you remember to install the driver?
Ten-to-one says there's nothing wrong with your Nord.

You're right I've been talking to the technician who was referred by the distributor and he said it is indeed a rare fault... Friday I'm taking the Nord Stage to the shop.

Never had this issue.
Are you connecting through a hub or directly? Lots of USB problems stem from, er, "weird" USB hubs.

Nope, I'm connecting direct to the computer...
