NORD STAGE 4 officially announced for February 16th 2023
Re: NORD STAGE 4 officially announced for February 16th 2023
Anyone else find it weird that the ns4 has the heavy version and the piano 5 medium keybed. I think the piano 5 doesn’t feel heavy at all.
Are the actions officially confirmed?

As I see it, misunderstandings are on the rise.
I don't know anybody who would be able to confirm the exact Fatar name of the key action implemented in the NS4. And I think there was nobody claiming that the NS4 action was heavier than the NP5 action.
We will soon be able to have a direct comparison, I think.

As said before I did tested NS4 88 yesterday, the action is quite similiar to my NS3 which IMHO is quite different from NP5.FZiegler wrote:As I see it, misunderstandings are on the rise.

I find it most likely the NP5 use the graded version and Nord Stage use a balanced version:JackD wrote:As said before I did tested NS4 88 yesterday, the action is quite similiar to my NS3 which IMHO is quite different from NP5.

I'm sitting in front of my NP5 and it takes more effort to depress the lower keys than the higher onesValpurgis wrote:I find it most likely the NP5 use the graded version and Nord Stage use a balanced version:JackD wrote:As said before I did tested NS4 88 yesterday, the action is quite similiar to my NS3 which IMHO is quite different from NP5.

Is this a joke ? No nord has a graded action. Which I can confirm comparing my Yamaha cx6, my nord Grand and piano 5…dcjams wrote:I'm sitting in front of my NP5 and it takes more effort to depress the lower keys than the higher onesValpurgis wrote:I find it most likely the NP5 use the graded version and Nord Stage use a balanced version:JackD wrote:As said before I did tested NS4 88 yesterday, the action is quite similiar to my NS3 which IMHO is quite different from NP5.

Can somebody confirm (who own a NS4 already), if you can set the sustain pedal on the synth layer of your choice, or if you activate the sustain, it will affect all the layers at the same time.
If it is like the NW2, it is very sad….., not to be able to control each layer independently.
Thanks

Like with any Stage before, the different engines have a button to activate/disable sustain: organ, piano, synth. But I think you can even set it for each of the 7 layers, not only the 3 engines (not approved).

Hmmh... the manual says: SUSTPED (Shift+Layer A) activates an attached sustain pedal for the Synth section. Read more on how to configure pedals in the Menus chapter, on page 58.DanielD71 wrote:Can somebody confirm (who own a NS4 already), if you can set the sustain pedal on the synth layer of your choice, or if you activate the sustain, it will affect all the layers at the same time.

This would be not good...

for pitch stick the manual says: PSTICK/RNG (Pitch Stick/Range, Shift+Layer B) turns on pitch stick functionality for the selected Layer. the bend range for the Pitch Stick can be set in semitone steps by pressing down the button and selecting a value from the displayed list.
