I don't think the lack of traffic on the Piano forum really means very much. At the end of the day, it's a digital piano. It plays piano sounds. There's not much more to say really. Most people seem to just use the General and Stage forums for discussing piano sounds, and the discussions are just as relevant to the NP1 - same sounds.

Yes. And indeed many of the things that can and should be said regarding the Nord Piano have already been said here, and often more than once
. (Which doesn't mean they are wrong of course.)

Re: Isn't it time for more flexible velocity curves?
I just found this out yesterday, although Nord Piano 2 owners are doubtless aware of it.
Back in 2013, Nord updated the velocity curves of the Piano 2 so that a softer curve is included in slot 3. I had thought that including a softer curve was new to the Electro 5, but it's been around for a good year and a half!
If an update that's been around for that long hasn't filtered down to existing Nord instruments by now, but IS included with the new Electro 5, then guess what?
It's highly unrealistic to think we'll get a velocity update.

How does the softer curve on an E5 compare to an E4 ?

Re: Isn't it time for more flexible velocity curves?
I'm at a loss as to why Clavia won't add a softer velocity curve to the Nord Piano 1 such as they added to the Nord Piano 2. Other than wanting to sell the next generation instrument, that is.
I can understand that when hardware improvements come along if someone wants the new features they need to upgrade. No one argues with that.
But when software revisions are available already that will increase an instrument's playability and enjoyment, to not make those revisions available to existing users is, in my opinion, not showing proper appreciation for the loyal user base that keeps a company in business.

Are they available for the Stage2?

I don't believe so. It would have to be an update.

Someone who owns an E5 will have to answer that one, but I read in one of the forums that the softer curve on the Nord Piano 2 makes playing the Italian Grand a pleasure..rb4u1 wrote:How does the softer curve on an E5 compare to an E4 ?

well, Clavia listened and we got the update, finally!
Can't wait to install it tonight and see what difference it makes... hopefully for the better!
