Then I need a (cheaper) "Stunt-Key" that still feels good and the NumaX fills this requirement (even if a lot of Sounds - esp. Organs - are missing).
Are sounds like organs really missing on the Numa X Piano? The docs show a number of organs on bank 4 …
Sorry - no misunderstandings - there ARE some Organ sounds in... Even some variations with and without Perc and Chorus - but always "closed" programms, that can only be tweaked by a FX or layering two Organ sounds... Maybe for some Jazz you can use the simpler ones and one or two are really usable within Blues or Rock... But there are some strange modulations (like a Chorus-FX) in, that I cannot use on stage... With that the sounds spread all over the frequencies and you have to work hard with the EQ to fix that in the band... In the end, the Rotary-FX even simulates a Rotor and a Horn, but it´s "very simple"...
Let us say - it cannot compete to a Nord Organ Sound... But you´re right - they´re suffed for a Gig and I use them since, they are available... They´re just don´t satisfy me... I subjective can´t get an Organ Feeling... But I would recommand it at once - for the price it is a great product with many cool features, a great Piano and a selection of "other" sounds... I really like the NumaX - it´s a great Product with a wonderful keybed.
... I just would change it to an upcoming Electro7 (with the TP/110 keybed), to have more of MY sounds in - especially the hard created Nord samples...

I get what you are saying. I am thinking of buying a Numa X 73 just as a backup board in case my NS3 will fail on or short before a gig. So I would just use the Numa X to get through a gig as a kind of emergency tool with sound needed but woudl accept that, apart from eventually the pianos, these are far away from what I am used to. I would expect nothing else than what you're saying from the Numa X Piano.
An Electro could do the same at a much better sound quality, at least for teh organs, but also at a much higher price (even used ones I think).
Well - as I´m checking the NET every day for a possible NE7 and cannot find any interesting (but lots of fake-)news about it (while all you MassEffect-Gamers already seem to know what a "N7" is), I decided to write something on my own...
Imagine - I had a dream... 2025... I found myself in the shoes of a Nord Development-Manager. The CEO came up to my Office and said: "Man - create the update for our NordElectro6 for the Winter NAMM-Show. Do your best but always remember: Keep the Distance to the Stage-Series (Directive *KTDTTSS*).
Okay - I thought of my today technical options at our production, my wishes for a NE7 and of course of this *KTDTTSS* and started to take notes:
- God in Heaven forgive me, but there need to be something like a mod- and pitch-thing and so I did some copyright crime and simply copied this fiddly Studiologic SL/Numa Pitch-Bend and Modulation joystick to realize these expression-options somehow (anyway - it looks like my collegue from Yamaha had already did this for his YC-Series)
- with that I asked Fatar to supply me with their great TP/110 keybed for my HP-Model, mentioned that the aftertouch need to stay out (even if I really apprechiate it) since there is this strong *KTDTTSS*-directive by my Boss
- I thought about having again 3 models - a 61, a 73er Waterfall and a 73er HP (maybe I could drop the 61-model and improve the 73compact sales - but I would like to check the NE6_61 Sales Numbers on my Sales-Guys desk again - maybe this model has really enough sales, so as not to be left out)
- there should be 3 sections with 4 layers - Organ, Piano and 2xSamplePlayer, since there should be a anyhow improved concept with at least one additional layer (against the old NE6), but I need to stay within *KTDTTSS*. But Boss - a second Synth-Layer won´t hurt and surely ensure more NE7-Sales. With that we need to show the competitors anyhow, that our new Electro with 4 Layers can do more than their fanciest stuff...
- I´m not sure, if I would like to raise the RAM for the Pianos and Samples (remember *KTDTTSS* and I need to keep a reason to buy a NordStage). Anyway 1GB Piano and 512GB Samples are already a nice thing and having my technical-guys adress more RAM would cost a lot of budget...
- FX per Layer is available in our production... Fine - but... s***... This *KTDTTSS*-Light above my Screen starts flashing again ... Maybe I should spare this great funciton...
- the polyphonie of the Electro6 was good so far and should still suffeed as for a little brother of the Stage (that offers even "only" 46voices too)... So more voices would be contra productive for our Stage4-Sales anyway
- I could think about the NordOrgan3 Engine... Just to show the NE7 is a technical update...
- I would not do any change to the Piano Section, since it´s already perfect as it is for the Electro
- I would keep the design and hopefully not need to expand dimensions or weight (better less)
More things coming up - Midi-improvements, Backup-File-Loading direct from USB, all those other ideas from the Nord-user-Forum - I feel dizzy.
Before I could recognize this blurred thing in the distance looking like an optional not-red but black-colored NE7,
I fortunately woke up - soaken wet...
Now I´m sitting here waiting in panic for new upcoming facts, to show me this was just a dream
or maybe I´d really switched bodies with any Nord-employee for some minutes
(hopefully he has not been fired for all of this maybe not cooperate thinkings - at least for missing the *KTDTTSS*).
Thx for reading and dreaming (or just have some fun) with me, while waiting for the new Electro...
