Thank you both; I actually figured it out - I hadn't placed the board under the tabs, as shown in the photos by intuit (on p. 6).
However...I managed to damage one of the ribbon cables that connect the keyboard to the housing, so now I'm not getting anything. Love it when fixing a problem creates a worse one. I'm going to start a different thread on that one, which I hope is ok. Thank yo again for your responses. James

I can confirm that it is happening on the Nord Grand, and Ive already updated the latest firmware. Middle C and B flat just below it are firing too loud randomly.

..this is sad, waiting for my next nord, i see there is still problems with random high peaks note. Most of my nord had that, it was so annoying,
and just inacceptable in this price level.

This random loud notes issue is also happening on my Nord Grand- never been out of house- kept in immaculate condition-2 years old- and it’s driving me mad! Not happy with Nord after paying so much money for it.

I guess that it is some debris/dust in the key contacts. Not sure how easy it is to open and clean those in the Grand.

There were two different phenomenons, depending on getting singular random full sounds throughout all keys or having one or more keys being always too loud. What you describe, Mr_-G-, might solve only the latter, as far as I read around here.

Ah, yes, it could be, thanks for pointing it out. If the keys are always the same, then the dirty contacts are more likely, I think. Was the issue on random notes had to do with the triple sensor?

Maybe, I don't fully remember. Wasn't it because of a certain way of hitting the keys (softly/slowly)?

The way I usually check a malfunctioning key in my grand is this:
-Press a suspected key and keep it pressed for something like 20 seconds.
-Release and re-press immediately.
-the max velocity event is very likely to happen.
I'm one year now from my solving swapping-rubbers operation (described before here in the thread) and middle C is starting again. Will wait but I know I'll be called for a new DIY intervention sooner or later.
