Well, let me produce a nice dissonant then, i got my new Piano3 about a month ago. No noises whatsoever have been bothering me. Its keybed is much more quiet than the Stage2 which i had before. I'm quite happy with my new instrument. I like the heavier touch than the Stage2 keybed, now that my fingers have gained a bit more strength. (i do miss the stage's organ though :( even though i didn't use it that much)

Mind you, happy product owners usually have no reason to come to any forum and post messages. Unhappy owners on the other hand seek information, confirmation or just want to express their frustration.

Is it safe to buy one at this time ? Have they fixed the key knocking keyboard noise yet ?

I decided to send my nord piano 3 to fix it, the noise under the keys become annoying. I hope it will work fine after.

I had my NP 3 fixed several months ago. The loud clacking is gone. It's still a noisy keybed but I'm getting used to the baseline noise with headphones. Still has wonderful piano sounds and playability. just that intermittently annoying keybed thumping noise.

This may be lost in this thread but we're not all seeing it. Mine's fine, for example, and it's in the range that was posted earlier, so YMMV.

To repeat Dave's question: Is it safe to buy an NP3 now (as long as the serial # is over PD11184, per the 02/24/17 post by jdwosh), because Nord has fixed the key knocking noise? If you're still out there, pablomastodon, do you agree?

Hi Nord friends,
It's my first post here.
I'm formerly a guitar player but since december I'm playing a lot of "piano" music on my Electro 5 and absolutly love the Royal Grand 3D !
As I have large fingers and also because of the Triple Sensors (that's something I'd like to have because it makes repeating notes more natural and easy) I'm ready to buy a "piano".
As I really love the whole Nord concept, buying a Piano 3 felt very logical.
2 weeks ago I went to Basel (as I'm living at the Swiss border) where I've played an RD-2000 (great great feeling keys) and then (at another place, not side by side) a Nord Piano 3 and... what a DISAPPOINTMENT !!! What a NOISE !!! coming from the keys, it was HORRIBLE !
The serial number was PD10947 (they had a second one in stock but it came the same day around April-May last year, so I think it had the same problem!).
So actually I have the very same question as "lawman" as I couldn't find another , more recent Nord Piano 3, here where I live.

I think the shop should return them to Nord and get the revised versions! I am in the same predicament. Would love to take the plunge with a NP3, but it's the Fatar action and their reliability issues holding me back. Would love to take the keybed out, if I got one and replace it with a Kawai action!!

Good idea huw1952 !
I'll really have to play the RD-2000 and the Nord Piano 3 side by side and if possible with my own Headphones and a pair of Focal speakers, so I'll be on home soil !
But I'll definitively choose feel over sound, so chances are high I'll go with the Roland (as I already have the sounds with my electro 5...)
Maybe Nord should consider an Electro or Piano rack ?
