If you can afford to be without the NS3 or Wave 2 for an extended time, then you could sell now, but just be clear that the NS4 may not actually ship for 8-12 months.
This is a good point. It may be a while before the NS4 is available for general purchase. My guess is that they will do the live beta in Europe before the unit is available in the states.

I couldn’t agree more about the p-121. Best kept secret in the digital piano world. Incredibly light, but very nice keybed. Great acoustic piano sound and very usable additional sounds. Built in speakers actually sound very good and the IPhone app extends the capabilities overall of the instrument. And the price is crazy low. You’re almost certainly never going to find one in a store, but it is identical to the P-125, which you can probably audition somewhere. Check one out if you want a lightweight, incredibly portable and affordable digital piano.

Speaking of which, I am wondering what time could be a good time to sell the NS3... Now that the NS4 has been announced? But now, new NS3 units will be discounted, so... Resell value of Nords is known to be high even later on anyway, with "older" models. I don't know.

Not that I absolutely want to sell it, but the 4 has got me thinking...
I think the time to sell is when the NS3 is no longer available and only the NS4, for between $5,000-6,000, remains. I think right now is probably the worst time as the Stage 3 is still out there at a steep discount.

I Actually have a Estimated Ship Date of March 27, 2023. Ordered right when pre-orders went live from my agent at Musicians Friends. Hoping I receive it prior to the NAMM show during the first week of April, if not I'll just fiddle around with the Nord Stage 4 at the show.

As soon as new NS3Cs are no longer available, I'll start to rotate mine. Not sure if I'm aiming at the NS4 73 HA or unweighted version like my current Compacts, it doesn't matter. BTW, the killer features for me are (a) exposed volume sliders for layers and (b) modular FX. I'm doing a lot of layering now, and it's rough flipping around between A and B.

It's interesting. The steep discounted price is what I paid for mine when they were released. I have two, a main and a backup and have been looking to sell my backup. Lots of offers of $2k or so with people explaining how they are old and no longer relevant (yet trying to buy them). I have mine at an even further discounted price and if I can't sell locally I will just put it on Reverb and it will go quickly.

has the Preset 2 button been done away with in the Organ section? on the Stage 3 you can have 4 preset with the two panels. I was told today it would be July shipping if I preordered.

The "Preset" button is still there, in the usual place to the left of the drawbars... they just removed the "2" tag apparently

Getting back to when to sell your NS3.
If that's your only board that you use, and if you can afford it. Why not check out more reviews & video know hows on the Stage 4 during the year. See what glitches it may have. Then if it's a better board then what you have. Purchase the NS4... You could then program it still using your NS3 Live.
Then once you program your new board. Tuck your stage 3 for a backup spare when possibly needed! Obviously there would be a lot of variables when it comes to if you only use one board on stage. Deside later to use two keyboards which and then the NS3 is a beautiful board to always accompany on stage, etc... Just a thought and I do realize that after owning your stage 4 if you buy it that if it goes down. You would have to use the stage 3 as your backup with maybe less programmed sounds until you were stage 4 was fixed but then you wouldn't have to try to find a rental to accommodate or some other brand keyboard that does have the sounds your Nord does... Prices on these machines don't go down often and if later you decide to sell your NS3.
You still could get a decent buck out of it in good condition... Patience is key... Especially when you're spending the amount of money for this Swiss watch of a board...

Lol, amount is not an effect parameter.
