Could be and as long as there is no manual, we can't say that choosing a variable split point in between two LED indicators would not make both of them lit in a defined way.

I've talked in the past about how, if an LED only indicates an "approximate" location, it could blink, and maybe at a faster rate if it's farther away and more slowly if it's closer (the way oscillator tuning often works).

That's potentially an idea, or use led colors for that (instead of showing crossfade), but when you have multiple and (potentially) partially overlapped zones it may become tricky.

In my understanding he meant two times 7 sounds. 7 sounds without the Layer Scene II activated and 7 with activated Layer Scene II. This is our dream, but we have to wait for more information.

Also, I would prefer the 1‘ cancel, but since the percussion won’t trigger anyway when engaged on a held note, the fact that it won’t cancel the drawbar is really the smaller issue IMO…

Just for curiousity: in which kind of setting would you need the percussion to trigger when you switch it on on a note already being pressed?

I get your band's music is not "traditional" but I'd think the 1' drawbar cancel thing would be much more relevant...

I actually came across that when I played in an informal jam band twenty years ago: when you hold a chord and flip on the percussion, it will trigger percussion for all those keys. That’s pretty cool for a pulsing effect without actually lifting the key and stopping the note.

Even better if you have the 1’ drawbar pulled, and the percussion clunks and kills the whine. Then you switch back again for the high-pitched whine, and clunk. Wheeeclunkwheeeeeeclunk.

I later discovered a Jimmy Smith record where he does exactly that in a solo. (“Non-traditional”, my ass! )

I actually described this and referenced the specific recording in a mail to Clavia with some feedback when I got my Electro 2 back in the day, and they replied with “we look into this for future development.”

I am going to stick with my combination for now, as the NW2 has basically the same architecture as the NS4. There are some cool features in the NS4, but none of them are going to make me want to pre-order one . NS4----------2 Pianos 2 Organs 3 Synth
NS3 +NW2----------2 Pianos 2 Organs 6 Synth. This combination works great for the music I play. Now, maybe a year from now if I can still sell my NS3 for a decent price, I would buy it. NS4 +NW2----------2 Pianos 2 Organs 7 Synth!!

Speaking of which, I am wondering what time could be a good time to sell the NS3... Now that the NS4 has been announced? But now, new NS3 units will be discounted, so... Resell value of Nords is known to be high even later on anyway, with "older" models. I don't know.

Not that I absolutely want to sell it, but the 4 has got me thinking...

The percussion trick might be not, but it's your band that's definitely non-traditional!

Well at least they replied... Let's see the NS4 but my expectations for this are so low they have started folding back on C...

If they run out of NS3s before the NS4 starts to ship, that would probably be the highest value time for NS3s. But who knows whether that will happen.

A product announcement is not a shipping product. Nord has a mixed history when it comes to delay from announcement to ship date.

If you can afford to be without the NS3 or Wave 2 for an extended time, then you could sell now, but just be clear that the NS4 may not actually ship for 8-12 months.

I would consider selling my NS3 to get an NS4, but I would not sell the Wave 2. As we can see with the announcement of the Stage 4, the architecture in the Wave 2 will be used going forward, at least for the stage series, if not others as well.
