Hard to belive if you plug the Nord into the mic input of Mackie, and trim it back, it's not loud enough to be too loud. Have you tried the mic inputs? From my experience a small low budget mixer, degrades the sound more than it helps,,,

After years and many trials I run a stereo Radial JDI, stereo into the board and monitor (mono) to QSC K10 (not 10.2). I get both channels to the monitor, so the balance is good. I like the clean sound of the K10 for vocals also. I've cycled through a lot of monitors in the prior year, pair of qsc k8, Twin Reverb, Roland cube, EV 12, pair of Roland KC150s, etc. like everyone else. But I found the K10 to be rock solid and an even sound that is not harsh. The only better sound I found is running stereo in ear monitors.
