A Clavia sales manager told me that the actions are calibrated via software in the factory...so forget those stories about technicians with screwdrivers to calibrate your Nord action.

It can do anything well but grand piano sound. I've found it to work just perfect over external modi connection with Kurzweil SP2X which has Fatar TP40L action.
I'm pretty sure that besides software calibrations, the individual Fatar HA and HP actions are physically calibrated. The Nord HP actions feel different from Kurzweil's HP actions and different from my Arturia Keylab 88's HP action.
And the Clavia HA action on my Nord Piano felt substantially different from the HA action on my Studiologic VMK-188 plus. Both are varieties of the Fatar TP40 keybed.

I noticed a difference in feel between the Nord piano 2 HA and the Stage 2 HA, in favor of the Stage. But Europe sales rep of Nord told me they 'calibrate' via software only. Hard to get hard facts, I guess...
You might want to start your own topic about the details of Nord's keyboard actions. You'll get a lot more comments from knowledgeable forum members that way. The topic we've been discussing here has been focused on velocity curves instead.
These users thanked the author michael_C1 for the post:
I just found the following in the description for the Nord Electro 5's piano section: " 4 Dynamic Response Curves are available for customizing the keyboard response to your playing style, including a new softer curve."
It certainly seems as though Clavia is aware that a number of us would appreciate more flexible velocity curve choices.
I'm wondering first, if anyone has an E5 yet, and can evaluate the 'new softer curve'?
And secondly, might we expect an update for our other Nord keyboards? Fingers crossed here

I've given some serious thought to upgrading my Nord Piano 1 to a Nord Piano 2 since the NP2 has sampling,
But right now I often need to bring a PC along in order to set up a more sensitive velocity curve on my Nord (unless I'm playing rock), so right now it makes more sense to use Kontakt and it's sample libraries.
I can't mention often enough what a great pleasure it is to play a Nord when the keyboard response is set properly!
Also there is no excitement over at the piano forum !
We had a good start with members like Dave Ferris joining and exchanging thoughts and recordings and look at it now ;(((
He among other serious pianists ended up selling the red one.
İt could have been diffrent,it could have becom the standard (for every other brand) that everybody thought it would be,we almost got there )
And then clavia quickly released a NP2 and left via the fire exit ;((
