Unless the ‘RevB v5.2’ refers to operational or electronics matters. This shows that they may have a separate system for other parts of the hardware. BTW I’m also at RevB v5.2 with a very recently purchased Stage 3 HA88.verbalakrobat wrote:All intentional updates/ modifications would not explain why they kept the old Revision ID.
That makes no sense with regards to product traceability...
If this is not a QC issue, I'd like to hear the excuse... and if it is, somebody should check their QC.

Re: Stage 3 HA88 Rev B ventilation holes
Normhart, those holes in the lower panel were already there already at least since RevB 5.1, which is mine. Considering their position, they probably didn't feel the need of removing them.
It might be. Mine reads 0.3.0.Normhart wrote: There is a second version number on the lower left of the rear panel that’s in really tiny print. What is the number on yours? Mine reads v0.3.1. I’m guessing this version number relates to the spec which pertains to the ventilation holes.

Re: Stage 3 HA88 Rev B ventilation holes
I read in another message that the removal of the upper vents was to prevent folks from poking around in there. I haven’t had any issues with heat dissipation myself so I guess they decided that considering there was already adequate ventilation on the bottom it was decided the removed vents weren’t worth the risk of potential damage.

Re: Stage 3 HA88 Rev B ventilation holes
I’ve seen that Nov 2020 date on a Nord Live video showing a woman named Natalie Tennenbaum playing on a Stage 3 that more clearly shows the lack of vent slots. I didn’t know the change extended back that far. I myself just got mine last month with serial #SP29316. Anyway vents or no vents, I have absolutely no issues with overheating and everything’s working fine so far.verbalakrobat wrote:Normhart wrote:There is a second version number on the lower left of the rear panel that’s in really tiny print. Re: Stage 3 HA88 Rev B ventilation holes
Just received my new NS3 88 today. No top vents. Only bottom vents. New from Sweetwater came loaded with current OS. Must be intentional design change.

I feel better about there being protection against unwanted objects especially liquids finding their way in through the slits -considering where they are - right over the power circuitry (electrical plug). On a very minor note, I do kind of like the cleaner look of it.

I agree. Being new to platform, just thought that grill was part of it. Now giving it some thought, I prefer the cleaner look and lesser chance of stray items getting in through the grates.

Re: Stage 3 HA88 Rev B ventilation holes
I'm glad someone else is mentioning the dust on the contact issue!!!!!! I JUST had to take my NS3 all apart a few days ago and clean off something on one contact. Hassle!! I've contacted Nord about this reoccurring issue several times and gotten absolutely nowhere. They completely refuse to acknowledge that Nords are more susceptible to this issue than other keyboards. Sorry to rant, but I've had dozens and dozens of keyboards starting in 1976 and Nords are THE ONLY ones that I have to take apart and clean. Grrrrr.

Re: Stage 3 HA88 Rev B ventilation holes
If the Nord engineers only removed the top holes and changed nothing else, it's probably safe to just block to vents on older NS3s. Do it at your own risk though.reinski wrote:I'm glad someone else is mentioning the dust on the contact issue!!!!!!
