I think either you can play really soft or loud, like there is no inbetween, feel wice. Like it lacks velocity layers.
i think it has has become a more synth than stage piano. I know that there is a lot of compromises in making a stage, that has to suit the most needs, and the synth is now useful, the organ is useful, the rhodes is nicer to play on ns3, but the piano,i think is a step backwards, and its so sad when i love nords piano and always have played them, when the came at the beginning. But now i feel like im playing piano on a synth. I Also noticed some syntheic respons in the bass section, that doesnt sound natural to me. I will wait a little bit to see if a OS update will fix this, otherwise i will sell it again and play with my NS2ex. I am not blown away of NS3, sadly.
Exactly the same feeling. Doesn't sound natural... Don't know why but has to be an explanation, of a bunch of them.

Does everyone have the same feeling and experience? I'm going to buy a NS 3 88 these days - should I wait or buy a used NS 2 EX?

Ditto, although I'm not a pianist.
I like the general feel of the NS388 better then NS288; less "heavy"
It's very (and i mean *very*) personal...

I don't have a NS2 but compared to my Roland and Yamaha keyboards, I don't have any problems playing ppp or fff or whatever in-between I like on the NS3.

Ditto. No issues whatsoever. Delighted with my Stage 3 88.

@Unimoog, Larsdka and Aureliopenna: Same problem here, will sell NS3 and get back to NS2. Feel is totally different, crippled IMHO. As a reference, the Stage 2 plays about the same as latest Nord Piano, NS3 plays totally different.
I suggest to have a long play on the NS3 somewhere before buying.

Thank you very much.
Sure, the experience is very personal, but the difference is somewhat irritating nevertheless.

I've lost track, and few messages are mentioning which Stage 2 and Stage 3 they are comparing. Is *everybody* talking about the 88s? i.e. people are not having this issue (where some people feel the 2 piano played better than the 3) with the HP or SW actions? Does everyone agree tha the 3 is as good or better than the 2 in these other versions? (I know I've seen posts about how well the NS3 Compact plays, and I never thought the NS2 Compac played very well for piano.)

My comparison is between the compact versions. Much happier with the 3.
