I was just playing again on my NP3 trying to figure out the key of a song i heard then suddenly my second highest G made a hell of a noise. I think it made that noise for a long time but just now I noticed. I saw the original video of the OP showing of his noise. Mine isn't that loud but its significantly louder then all the other keys I strike. sorry I haven't had the time to read this entire thread again. could someone tell me if this is fixed? If so how do I get it fixed. Thanks in advanced fellow musicians.

I'm unable to see the OP's video on my iPhone. Does it demonstrate the sound of the keys as I was asking a few replies ago?

I have s/n PD10599 and when I took my board in for service today I learned that it already had the thicker felt pad, so either the change happened earlier, or they are all made that way.

It's hard to know if we're all talking about the same thing without everyone posting a recording of their keyboard. I do not have a "clack" like the OP, just louder than necessary "thump". When the sound is cranked up, comparable to an acoustic piano, the keyboard noise is covered by the piano sound. I only have the problem with listening with headphones.

The "clack" seems like a real problem, the "thump" is just the way it is.

Hi,
There are 2 things different.
The metalic strong "clonk" that you can hear when you play and the small click that you can hear on some keys instead of the "thum"... It's a more higher sound. Not loud... But present.

I have some keys with" click", one when I push, one on realise, but no stro'ng "clonk".

Do you see what I mean ?

Cheers

Wow. Lot of noises to contend with: click/clack/clonk/ and thum. Not sure now which are "pathologic" and which are normal keybed noise- but there is clearly lots of interest in this subject now approaching an 8 page thread.

Yes I agree. But I don't have the clack, just small "click" on 2 keys ...

Hoping to be more clear.

Hard to describe with words ...

Click clack clunk, or tack tick touk, it's not serious on a 3000 keyboard.

Try with a picture, which is worth 1000 words.
(Seriously, a spectrogram  ).

Anyway it is a very good keyboard, maybe it's just a drop of grease wich has moved away by playing.
Not a big deal compared to what the instrument quality is.
