Please bother to the read the post I refer to catch what I am talking about. What you said was «Triple sensor has nothing to do with MIDI…» but obviously is has a clear relevance.
OK Maybe it is a matter of language or assuming some background knowledge, however what I mean is that triple sensor has to do with keyboard scanning, which happens before the generation of MIDI data and can be used differently by internal engine (see Virtual Hammer Aciom Technology of Nord) in a way that cannot be handled via standard MIDI currently. Hope now it is more clear :-)

Returning to the question of new and improved Electro Mechanical instrument samples (ep's, clavs etc), the nord page states:
"The Nord Stage 4 comes with a new enhanced collection of Grands, Uprights and Electric Pianos from our exclusive Nord Piano Library".

Sorry, but i went to the piano library page and i'm not seeing any new rhodes, wurlies, clavs etc. Some of them were updated on 2018, five years ago.
But where is this "new enhanced collection of Grands, Uprights and Electric Pianos"...?!

Maybe it will be published later, like it happened for NP5 and Sample Library v4. Online shops say first availability of NS4 will be mid March so it should't take long to at least have manual and Factory backup files.

I believe it may refer to this topic that has been up for some discussions:
general-nord-forum-f29/piano-library-ne ... 23234.html
There ARE some releases of (not new, but) improved piano-samples, but the improved versions are "hidden" in a bundle-download.
I suspect these enhancements will be official released in the near future, maybe as a kind of follow-up to the release of NS4.

I've always taken "enhancements" to mean provisions for new features on the relevant product, rather than sonic improvements, necessarily. Hence making them available to a specific instrument only.

No offense or bad feelings  Still I am curious whether Nord has done any advance as they have indicated to accept midi input that makes the Stage 4 retrigger the same note. Hope is based upon the answer Marco88 got from Nord here: nord-piano-grand-forum-f10/nord-grand-w ... 18954.html

Same here, no bad feelings ever and thanks for giving me the opportunity to clarify an unclear post of mine  (and now I see exactly what you were referring to, in that older post)

Let's see, as I said the difficulty is for Nord (and anyone) to decide on which way the external keyboard manages the retriggering in terms of MIDI Note On/Off sequence and personally I'd say it should be more on the master side to foreseee different "Note retrigger MIDI modes", to be able to work with different slaves, than the opposite; but just my opinion :)

I think we all are hoping that the statement from Nord really means that there will be released totally new piano(s).
My suspicion though is that at some point the improved samples will be announced as the "new enhanced collection of Grands, Uprights and Electric Pianos".
Until Nord gives any announcements regarding this, one can only live and hope :)

I have read through a lot of these posts... I have to say, my head is now spinning trying to figure out what the NS4 will offer, especially around the organisation of sounds :-D

To be honest, I get the NS3 to work really great for me in a 5 piece band setting - the panels set up and especially song mode set up allows me to pre-plan songs and complexities within them really well and with my mind at rest, so I can concentrate on the performance. With a few little exceptions, where it would be occasionally nice to have an extra synth or sample layer, or such thing, I have everything I need and more and I suppose.

I feel that unless you are the core sound/player in a band, more than what we currently have on these stage instruments could actually lead to a quite mushy or muddy mix overall.

Anyway, rather than speculating about what is coming, I look forward to trying one out. For me, the big changes are the new synth and the effects.

Regardless, the triple sensor is a nice add. As I mentioned before, I believe they are using the same keybed on the 73 as my NP5. And yes, the MIDI message traveling over a wire can be generated in a variety of ways, including the above-mentioned triple-sensor key strike, in which case it's closer to the velocity you had in mind.
I think I have gear issues ....
