Hi !
I am playing on my Nord Stage 2 since about 2 weeks.
OS Version 1.40
I have a great problem with the Sustain Pedal Function.
Situation:
When I play only with the Synth Section –
the Note I play when the „Sustain Pedal is going up“ sometimes will not start !
I have tried this with the Triple Pedal and also with normal Pedals.
No success !
The last played Notes - I think – should always sound for normal Live Music !
Can anyone help ?????????????????
Thanks much !

Nord Stage 2 – Sustainpedal Problem on Synth-Section !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is the exact description of the incorrect Sustainpedal function on the
Nord Stage 2 – Synth Section:
1.) First hold down the Sustainpedal
2.) When you now play only „1“ Tone on the Synth Section – and go up with
the Sustainpedal exactly at the same time – the tone comes only with of
about 10 Percent of the normally Volume !!!!
3.) If you try this of about 20 Times – you will hear it perhaps 4 times.
But this 4 times are 4 times too much when you make live music !!!!!!
I have tried this with the Triple Pedal and also with normal Pedals.
No success !
I hope there will be a fast Update for „Nord Stage 2“ , so I don´t need to
send my Instrument back to thomann.

Not sure if already posted, I found a problem on Organ percussion management when using an external Midi keyboard.
Here's my setup
- NS2 Program A 08.2 Jazzy Joey ( for instance)
- Lower manual on slot A, played on NS2
- Upper Manual on Slot B, set to receive MIDI in from Channel MIDI15
- I disable the split and slot layering, to have full lower and upper extension
- the problem: the upper sound organ percussion disappears... To restore it I have either to go in Dual Keyb mode or restore the slot layering...
Anybody else can try and check this? If confirmed I think it Clavia technicians should be informed....

Hello Maxpiano,
On a real B3 organ, percussions are only available on the upper manual, so your problem could be in fact a choice from Clavia to do the same thing. I had already noticed it and that was my conclusion.
By the way, when you play with a second keyboard, the slot A is for the upper manual (if you want to use the percussion as on the real thing...).
Bye.

If I leave my NS2 on over night in my studio. The next day it will play a short cluster of notes when I release the pedal. Seems like a bug in the piano release function. If I reboot the problem is solved. I have the latest software installed.

I see... well thanks, that can be an explanation but then it doesn't explain why I can still obtain percussion also on Slot B when In Dual Keyboard mode... unless in that case Slot B becomes "Upper" and Slot A "Lower" ...
(in any case, it would be nice if Clavia would make this "Upper/Lower to Slot A/B" assignments explicit in the manual, or maybe they are there but I couldn't find...)

I noticed a strange bug with my NS2 76 (LAS Os , 1.40)
I did one program , two slot , each one I have fm 1 OP. is a theremin . "star trek" like program
bit of glide and mono . expression pedal NOT inserted. - bit delay in both
if I , very quicky , switch from another program to THIS ONE , sometimes the volume of THIS ONE is DIFFERENT!!!!! is lower!!!
I TRIED TO SWITCH BETWEEN OTHER SYNTH PROGRAMS , OR PIANO PROGRAM , ORGAN PROGRAMS ECC and everything is fine.
LOOKS LIKE JUST THIS PROGRAM , if you swith quickly to this one , sounds with different volume. IF , after , with keys of rotary dial , you slowly go program up and down , then the volume is right again.
I upload the program , can you check if it happens to you as well?
I reported to Clavia as well.

I found another problem or bug which I don'know if already mentioned in this forum.
I was trying to layer 2 instances of the Bari-Horn Trio sound in the synth, to play woth auto pan and try some special stereo processing, so I loaded it in both slot A & synth then enabled both slots to start the layer (NB: no effects applied yet) and.... Instead of hearing the same sound in a 2-note unison, I heard a completely different sound, as if some frequencies were being cancelled between SynthA and SynthB
Cannot tell what is this due to but I guess some problems in managing this type of condition in current firmware (?)
Anybody else found this or can try to reproduce?

Hi max
I think is a normal phisical audio issue , not depending on the keyboards. If you put the same sounds in both slot and you enable both of them , the sounds play in same frequency one on another , so they......cancel themselves reciprocally

this will happen with every sample. Try to put two same acoustic pianos , slot a and b , and enable both....the sound will be chorused...
with the synth samples , try to put one of them one octave up or down , or try to change something on one slot , filters or whatever , and you'll see sound will open.
or maybe , if you put some effect , different for each slot , something will change.
hope it helps

I am sorry Fabio but I disagree; cancellation occurs only if you invert the phase and add, but why should slot A & B do that (invert the wave's phase)?
If the phase is the same you should get the same sound at double volume, instead.... (if you are still not conviced, just draw 2 sine or triangle waves on a sheet of paper and build their overlap wave by "summing" their value point to point)
The chorusing (detuning) on pianos instead is by design (and on NS2 you can set its amount from 0 to 4)
So I still consider this a bug.
