No one pays RRP for these boards, but the Stage 4 is only £60 under (being brand new) whereas the Grand is currently £600 under RRP however I believe RRP on the grand has increased £300 since release.

I'm really, really tempted on a Stage 4 but the price is putting me off. I need to shift my current board but the Stage 4 is more than twice as expensive as it was new.
Companies rarely drop prices and I don't imagine Nord dropping any prices, they will just wait out the sticker shock, as Stage 4's become more available dealer will start discounting like they did with Stage 3's. So have to just wait to save a little money. Nord has always been the high price keyboard and it's part of their attraction to some like the red color to make them stand out. They area status symbol of keyboards. I don't see that changing for Nord maybe one day they will decide to come out with a lower priced line of Nords with a clear line between top end and lower end. I see them doing that before just lowering MSRP on existing products.

There will be better prices on Stage 4's just as there are on all other current Nords. And by that I mean Nords with the warranty, not the used market, which of course will go even lower in price if you wait long enough.
Quite a few small shops here in the USA are happy to give heavy discounts off the regular Nord prices.

Yes, like the Ferrari! And to be fair, Ferrari doesn't market an entry-level car, and they charge whatever the hell they want, and they keep selling. SO - there is certainly successful precedent for being a high-priced status brand where a dedicated customer base, legacy models that sell for close-to-original prices, and just the general vibe of the products count for more than continual innovation.

But Ferrari IS coming out with an all-electric EV, in 2025. Maybe we get USB audio and iOS with the Nord by then :)

I intend to buy a NS4C this summer. It will likely take a bit of work to recreate 100 or so patches, so I don't intend to start live gigging with it until October or so.

Looking around the usual retail suspects, it's not a good time to buy -- yet. No one has much in the way of inventory yet in the US. Several retailers are offering 10% in "bonus bucks" plus sweetheart financing deals (for units they don't have yet), probably paid for with distributor rebate money, which tells me that -- yes -- everyone is aware of the sticker shock.

If inventory arrives and the sweeteners aren't enough to move them out in a few months, pricing will start to drop at smaller retailers followed by larger ones -- something we have seen before with Nord. If the economy pulls back hard, then prices will drop a bit more.

For that reason, I'm expecting to get the $4899 NS4C for around $4400 (inc. shipping) by the middle of the summer. We'll see how close I am to that number when the time comes!

Hello everyone,

Can someone help me?

I would like to use sounds from Nord Stage 4, but also the same keyboard as a Midi keyboard and use sounds from Mainstage - but also -
Second keybord Arturia and there sounds from Mainstage, but also use on Arturia with Midi sounds from Nord Stage 4.

Can You help me?
How should I set up Midi channels? So they do not mix with each other. And whats more?

Thanks,

Norbert

Hi Norbert,

first of all I would suggest you create a new thread for this topic in the Nord Stage 4 section of the forum. Your question not related to the topic "Nord at NAMM 2023" at all, and people likely will not expect or take notice of your question in this thread here ;)

Yes and anyway @Norbert this is more a question for a Mainstage forum (or FB group), because if both keyboards are connected to the Mac, Mainstage can take care of all the required MIDI routing (not complicated, if you know how to use MS and particularly its External Instrument channel strips)

Hallo Norbert!

This is indeed a Mainstage question, and not so much a Nord Stage question.

May I humbly suggest making an account at the Logic Pro Help Forums and posting a new thread in the MainStage forum?

I'm sure the good folks there will help get you started.
