Yesterday I updated all the pianos, including the EPs...
I did a simple test to show the differences using COMP button and especially the Dyno available for Wurlitzer.

without the capacity to use those filters (I have a NE5), is it worth it to download those wurli files, or does it mostly sound the same without the filters?
thanks

I just came across a section in the manual (v1.2) for the NP5 describing a function that was added with Rev. B.
According to the manual, the new DYN COMP function requires piano samples from version 6. Obviously these new samples are "treated/edited" in such a way that this new dynamic works.
Btw, besides the KB TOUCH button it’s another possibility to adjust the sensitivity of the keyboard/sounds.

Yeah, the same for the NS3 which got both a panel update and an OS update to support this - those with the original (“old”) panel can still make use of it if they are updated to the right OS version.
I would not expect Nords running any of the new samples with a software that not explicitly supports the modified samples, but it’s worth a try to check and see if sound manager loads them onto such a Nord and if any sound impacts are audible
Edit: That was bulls…

I tried out both of the new Wurlitzer files side-by-side with the old, and they are identical as far as I can tell when not using the v6 enhancements.

The DYN COMP feature is totally new to me. Did I miss something on my NS3 or did I misunderstand what you meant?

This is fascinating - thank you! I use the Wurlitzer sound quite a bit, so I'll have to check this out for my applications.
I also use the CP80 sample A LOT, so I'm curious if there's anything new with this one.

Wondering this myself. Clearly saving the space on the White Grand makes it a no brainer. But if I have a Stage 3, is my *only* move here to replace the White Grand? And are we 100% sure the White Grand is identical, even without that 40MB? Hard to understand how that's done, but I certainly believe it can be true.

As far as I see this DYN COMP function is only available in the NP5 Rev. B yet. It will probably also be applied in a next Stage model.
