I remember when I had a Wave and was thumbing through presets, there was a patch which did something similar, some sort of harpsichord-like sound I believe. There's a similar preset on the Sequential Prophet6. But these patches use the raw analog waves, not samples, so you have more options in how to shape them. With a sample, the real instrument already has an envelope naturally so that is baked into the sample unless you use Nord's "wavetables..."

That's it! If the Stage 3 has the inverse envelope capability of the Wave 2, one might be able to emulate the key-off sound (with clavinet sample?) and mix it with the D6 Clavinet.

I've just played with the EGrand3 v6.1 (Electric Grand) that comes with the Piano 5 and Stage 4, and I've noticed that it has a key release sound.
This can be heard around C4. Nice touch.
