Here are a few thoughts that come to mind as I read this thread:

- The premise that updates to the NS3, newer products, or the piano/sample libraries should be limited to the capabilities of a keyboard released almost 7 years ago does not seem reasonable.
- If the premise of a post is to assert that Clavia/Nord is either malevolent or incompetent, then it seems reasonable to assume that the poster is acting as a gadfly or troll.
- If you want help with the sound of your keyboard, please post what you are using in your signal chain and your amplification (in your signature would be best) so we can help you with troubleshooting - otherwise, it looks like you’re just complaining.
- As the saying goes, “Even a dog knows the difference between being tripped over or being kicked.”

And yet there are others, myself included (check my avatar), who also own only an E4. I am ecstatic for owners of newer models, and don’t in the slightest believe that I am somehow entitled to this also. To do so would sap company resources for development of newer, even better instruments that I will eventually invest in, as soon as I’m able.

Emotional maturity in the single digits (of age) doesn’t justify hijacking what was initially a positive thread.

I grew up in Hong Kong and am fully bilingual.

It’s far more amusing to consider an Aussie being forced to communicate in English. :D

However, the context here is that Gambold has spent the past years on these forums doing not much more than complaining about the Nord e-pianos and belittling anybody with different needs, tastes and preferences than him (including deriding anybody prioritising synthesis capabilities as not being a real musician).

I appreciate that there is a lot of history here that I am unaware of, but I find that meeting negativity with negativity just breeds more negativity, and then everybody ends up miserable.

Anyway, sorry for derailing this thread even more from up here on my high horse. I'll step down, got some keys that need playing.

A lot of negative vibes in this post guys.

Lets face it, we are all Nord fanatics here. We live and breathe these magical instruments which is the reason most of us are here. We put our money where our mouths are and then joined the club. Its therefore understandable that when anyone says anything bad about our precious Nords that we jump to the defense. I think sometimes we can then overlook someone bringing a valid point.

Gambold does often bring some valid points, even if he can be taken as being negative.... i have enjoyed his input on many a thread... you know he is going to say it how it is even if its not the answer you might like lol.
I do partially agree with his message that a part of the appeal of Nord keyboards is the ability to swap and change sounds from the library so can understand frustration when something comes out but then you cant use it.

That said, if all new sample releases and their new features worked on older boards, then Nord would have no reason to create and sell new models at all. There is evolution of the products, more memory, more features, better usability. The boards are constantly improving and its inevitable that some older hardware will be left behind with what newer hardware can do better. If you MUST have the new features, the answer is, sell the NE4 and put the proceeds towards an NE5/NE6?

Having tried the new EP's they are excellent, lots more punch in the sounds now especially with the new filters. :)

Is there any estimate on when these will work with the Electro 5 and other models?

Hard to say I think ... it took them about 6 to 8 weeks to release the new OS and the Enhanced EPS for the Electro 6, but for Electro 5 as well as for Nord Stage 2/2EX they will likely only release the XL versions of the pianos but not the new filters if I understood correctly, so this may be available in a shorter period of time - just my 2cents

Nord has issued the OS updates for NS2/2EX, NP3 and NE5, with support for .npno v6, today.
